Well people are saying PS4, Xbone and Wii U are the last consoles to be released. Any thoughts about this?

The Xbox 360 and PS3 had a good shelf-life, can see current consoles having an even longer life span, but as for the "last", I'd be certain to say there's still life in them yet.

It's safe to say console gaming will never die. Xbox One, PS4, etc. are surely not the last consoles to be released. I'm not sure if you would consider virtual reality gaming to be a console (when it is released in the future) but that should give you an idea of how console gaming will never die. Although a demand for computer gaming has increased dramatically over the past few years, console gaming is not going anywhere.

There will always be a demand for console gaming. Individuals around the same age as me grew up with console gaming, so it's nostalgia in a sense.

Be interesting to see where VR takes consoles/pc's in the future, but definitely agree Barton

Besides smash, competitive gaming is dying down on consoles. I think the whole "pc master race" is not very welcoming in getting people to switch over. I think in terms of casual gaming and younger children, you can't beat consoles, but I think Nintendo has that market locked down for the most part.

I agree with this. When I was a kid, we'd all pile up on the couch and play Mario Kart or SSB. Those were probably the best times I've had gaming.

I doubt consoles are going anywhere anytime soon.
