Scionbot - Free Runescape Bot!

Scion is completely free, easy to use, and best of all its consistently updated. Scion is a small download because it isn't obfuscated like other bots. It also uses less memory and overall CPU as well. It's open-source and available to everyone to learn from.

Scion is easy to script. You're backed with Scion's library, .Net's library and Visual Studio. Did I mention you can script in any supported .Net language? With a library-rich library provided with Scion, it takes only half the amount of code to produce the same script compared to RSBot. Every method/field in Scion is also documented. You can easily find yourself around with the inbuilt Intellisense in VS, or the Object Browser. Not to mention that the source is also there for a reason.

Thank you for the reply, but listen mate. I've got the client working, and I've got a simple tutorial island script working right now. This bot had some popularity back in 2009. I'm simply bringing it back to life. I'll have the site up and running at the end of this week. I'm just putting out an alert that it is coming back. You said the bot isn't obfuscated... so this means anyone can download the bot, decompile to source, and steal literally everything and do whatever they want with it. Either you're full of shit with this bot or you're just stupid.

There have been numerous open source clients released such as RSBot, vInsert, Simba, SCAR...

Not sure what they're going to steal and what they're going to do with it? Open Source is a good thing and you shouldn't be bashing it at all, it promotes involvement and allows a product to evolve faster (and so much more).

 

I'm not really sure what was going on in my head in my above posts. I blame multiple all-nighters and multiple term projects stealing my focus and thinking abilities.

I disagree, with botting clients I think it's better if they're closed source. You make it extremely easy for Jagex if you release all of your 'cheating software' opensource (not saying it isn't already). And overall the closed source bots are doing way better than the opensource ones. The only open source bot that ever got a lot of users has to be Simba/SCAR. And (arguably) that's because they are a complete different product compared to injection/reflection bots.

So RSBot didn't get a lot of users when it was open source?

Closed source bots tend to last longer because they often profit more and therefore give more an incentive to the developers to continue working on them, don't really have a problem with that at all but I'm an open-source fanboy.

 

One of the main reasons to why the bot is open source, is so that the users can make their own scripts aswell. AND they can read the code to know that their accounts will NOT be stolen.
