Is a Runescape 2007 GE Item Buyout still possible?

Would an item buyout be possible with enough capital and enough people even with a limit if the item isn't commonly sold but can fetch a lot of money or if the item ends up becoming used more often.

 

That would always be possible. If you got unlimited money and accounts you can buy out an item. See: elysian shields, which are horded by rich people.

Possible, yes, profitable, not very likely. Any item you could buyout, more could be made. The only way it may be profitable is if you started buying out third age/spirit shields, but you would need a fuckton of money for that.

 

Everything you buy out you will have to sell back eventually. When you sell it back the price will drop due to the laws of supply and demand. It's possible to do for LOLs but the profit likely won't be what you expect it to be.

 

Yes, its possible, but im pretty sure its against the rules now. Atleast they stated when the GE got released that merching clans (which buy out an item like the old days) would be against the rules, not sure how the rules affect individuals.

We should get a handful of Sythe members to do a small private buyout to test if this is still an efficient way to make multiple times your initial investment.

for a commonly traded item you need 10b+ over 50 accounts to have any impact. tried a clan setup system with my old Fc budds and we made like 50-100m each before the fc was banned 2 weeks later. What you need is a private group away from RS investing in the same thing then a shell fc for when you dump in game. It's complicated but completely do-able if you have the time and enough friends willing to go through the effort.

 

This would also be risky since jagex has said that they don't want people price manipulating and will take action against people who do it

Yes its possible. I've always been interested in doing this in 07, just haven't had enough gp or people willing.

You'd have to buy things that aren't commonly introduced to the game.

And then stay on top of it with influenceful g.e. offers that will ensure you continue to have market control.

 

IF you have the gp for it you could.. really hard to have enough gp to buy out an item... and they do put a restriction on certain items...
