A bunch of top officials at FIFA arrested recently. I know alot of people hate them. What are your opinions of this? I'm curious as to how the FBI/US got so involved. It's sort of funny how the US thinks it has so much jurisdiction

 

Not surprised there's corruption, what is surprising is the fact the US got involved.

Hopefully it's the start of honest corporations (I know.. unlikely)

 

People are all like "Why is the U.S getting involved??" because the U.S's football team sucks. Well this has nothing to do with the U.S Football team, it's about the law and corruption. The U.S deals a lot with the market and FIFA and it's a very lawsuit happy country. If it finds corruption with any partnership they deal with, it'll be quite trigger happy.

 

Makes sense, major financial market player. Would be interesting to find out how they got a man on the inside to begin with, and a microphone in a keychain was pretty cunning

 

Nothing that suprises me everybody is corrupt these days, from governments to sports to religios leaders. Money the root of all evil.

 

Not surprised. I'm glad something is being done over corruption.

 

Putin said that U.S. got involved because they wanted to take the 2018 cup from Russia, which would actually be great as it would be way easier for me to assist. And about the corruption I think we all knew about it, Figo and the Jordanian prince backed out on the elections because there is too much corruption and Blatter is like a dictator, I think he also said that the ones who opposed him will have punishment lol... What I am surprised is that Mexico's football federation president wasn't involved in corruption.

 

They can't take the wc 2018 from Russia. There are only 3 yers to prepare, and i belive nobody will want that. And there are the cost for preparations in Russia that were already made. I don't know the real interest in this scandal is, but they can't overrun the coruption there, because all the officials of all federations are a little dirty. They deal with billions of $. Blatter will leva FIFA leadership when first will leave Earth.

 

i hope theyll take it away from russia and qatar..sad to see it happen at this level of sport.

Ayyy Sepp Blatter is resigning and Prince Ali is the most likely contender to replace him. I guess there is some good in the world.

I'm happy Sepp blatter is finally stepping down.... (no step ladder pun intended)

I doubt he cares though...I'm sure he's made a lovely amount of money from years of backhanders....

 

It needs to be done. The corruption needs to be handled.

 

Of course they won't take the WC from Russia, that is just what Putin said. The one that they will maybe change will be Qatar for sure.

 

Yeah they estimate thousands will die building the Qatar world cup.
