Need help with a problem on my phone

Yesterday, just randomly, my Nexus 5 started to do this : http://gyazo.com/6f35b3220a9285184d526b92381e4191

This happens when I try to restart the phone, hard boot the phone and force restart the phone. It is un-useable

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

EDIT: When I hold down the screen on the left side with an extremely hard grip, the screen unfreezes for a second or two. I think it's a hardware issue

 

I had a similar problem with one of my old iPhones. If I recall correctly it is indeed a hardware issue. I would look into replacing the screen or getting the motherboard checked at a professional repair establishment.

 

You will need to secure your backlight screen to the actually hard drive of the phone
