Scammed by Sympathetic

Hello everyone. Yesterday I was looking at other accounts and I came across KarlRais thread of an old account he had sold to Sympathetic. I added Sympathetic and began talking to him we agreed on the price 200M. Before buying it I wanted to confirm it was KarlRais original account. I PM'd him and got this response.



This morning I began speaking to Sympathethic and he had changed his mind. He had wanted 350M for his account, because he had trained it more from where it started. I didn't want to pay that much so I offered him 210M. He accepted and I asked if we could use a MM to verify that I actually bought the account and I would be able to show it to Karl to be granted the same warranty. His response was.
"I’m fine with karl, but I don’t want another person to have the details. I don’t want any liability if anything happens or it gets locked due to that many IPs"

Later on he said
"I don’t see why we need to wait another 8 hours"

A bunch of other chat led to me finally deciding to buy from him while screenshotting every transaction as well as getting confirmation via PM.



I gave him the gold and then proceeded to wait about 15 minutes without any response, until he explained he was waiting for his friend to get back on. With a little bit of talking I was able to get back my initial gold, this should of been a clue to not trade with him, but I did not listen to my own instincts.

After picking up his friend, I get a message from him saying he is back and ready to trade. I meet him on the world and we proceed to trade, he confirms again his account.



This chat log is very short, because this is where it ends. There are some messages I send to him after, telling him that I am willing to forget that this happened if he refunds the gold and then ending up just trying to call and talk with him.

He tried typing a few times, but ended up deleting the messages. I have some video of this as well if it is helpful at all.

I have screenshots of all completed trades and more if it would be helpful to post. He is currently offline, his phone is off and not accepting voicemails. I don't believe I will see my gold again. I do hope though that I KarlRais will be able to assist me, as his account was verified and I paid him the amount he wanted.

Please upload pictures of the chats on Skype which follow the guidelines in the Stickies on this forum. We cannot accept copy-pasted text logs as evidence. Specifically the end of the convo where you ask him what is going on and why he hasn't provided the account.

Sorry you ran into such a scummy person. 210M is a lot to trust someone with, especially a fairly new Sythe member. Try not to let people pressure you into making decisions, or make you feel uncomfortable. Try to remain in control of the situation as much as possible to avoid this in the future. Good luck man.

EDIT: Also, send a message to Karlrais and show him this report. Hopefully he can help with the account. You are certainly the rightful owner.
