Are you against Islam?

I think that religion is a way of life, it connects people together and allows everybody to think beyond a normal perception of life.

In the case of Islam i personally believe that its one of the purest religions now. Ofcoarse there are going to be people out there who totally disagree with my whole view on religion because of all the wars but seriously look at religion beyond that and its absolutely beautiful.

 

Purest? What exactly defines purest. This is the issue with any religion everyone from each religion is going to think that their beliefs are the right beliefs, and this is why are stupid wars over it. It's open to too interpretation too, which is possibly part of the reason these Islamic extremists ares butchering innocent peoples. Why? Because they can, because they hate the western world, they're obviously interpreting 'Allah's' words in a way they can find a loophole to justify murdering men, women and children. They are also just brained washed psychopaths.

I'm not 100% against religion or even for it. There's too many teachings of different religions and a follow of whatever given faith will always say that their faith is the right faith and the only faith. Not one of these people can give a sensible, well structured and educated answer to justify why their religion is right.

I do believe there is a creator somewhere in this universe. I'm not under the impression that it's a 'supernatural' way of thinking of things, let's be quite honest life itself is supernatural it's an extraordinary phenomenon. Our own existence is a thought captivating question that we ask ourselves often.
I genuinely believe science and a 'creator' coincide with one another.

But here's the deal. I DON'T SAY THAT MY BELIEFS ARE THE RIGHT BELIEFS, THEY ARE SIMPLY BELIEFS.

The big issue at the moment is twisted people like Anjem Choudary and other Islamic people with dogmatic views like himself (who I believe are a bad representation of Islam) are under the impression that people who do not believe will submit to Islam via fear, choice or being forced. Well I'm sorry I will live my life on my own terms, I will drink when I want to drink, love who I want to love, marry who I want to marry, eat what I want to eat, help who I want to help. I live life my on MY terms.

 

Islamic is a peace religion nor they're looking for war but other people are making them look like fools and saying they weren't meant to be in world. God said this were to happen from the start.

I am against Islam the same way I'm against any other religion. Along to nationalism, religion has been one of the greatest cancers in humanity, causing so many unnecessary deaths and waste of resources.

 

All I am aganist is there hatred towards others, and they cause pain to others.

 

Extremism is a sickness from within the individual, not a religion.

Those who commit to extremism do so in the name of many religions/reasons.

Unfortunately, hidden agenda in media has shone the spotlight on Islam for various obvious reasons causing so many to hold deep prejudice and hate for an otherwise peaceful religion =(

 

Has anyone here even read scripture of the Qur'an? I myself am a Christian and the only acts of violence it speaks of in the bible is to destroy the gentiles that were in the promised land. The Israelites were unfaithful in this and the centuries of bloodshed and violence could've been avoided because of it. Personally, I despise Islam because it is a religion of violence toward other religions. As for the feud between Islamist radicals and Zionists, that isn't even a matter of ideology. By claiming it is a war of ideology, they give an excuse to continue the century old conflict between Esau and Jacob. Jacob squeezed out Esau's birthright by denying him food when he was returning from a hunt, half starved until he promised it to him for a bowl of lentil soup, which was the nearest food (he was starving). Jacob then proceeded to steal Esau's personal blessing from his father with help from his mother. There was bitterness from Esau as he left home to raise a family. He passed this bitterness onto his children. As they grew up it dissipated and they embraced each other with open arms when meeting with each other again. The Arabian nations descended from Esau and the Anglo-Saxons and Israelis descended from Jacob. The newer generations renewed the hate for the other side of the family as time went on, and nobody even remembers what they were fighting over originally, which, in all honesty, is scarier because it can be labeled as whatever the belligerents choose. The present day radicals need an excuse to wipe out the Jews and Israelis so they make up all sorts of garbage about being mistreated and unequally represented and shoot people until their case is heard. As for Islam, it says in the Qur'an that believers should pretend to comply with heathens and then when they have been made relaxed or friendly with them to kill them. It's ridiculously hypocritical when the people who are doing the killings say it's not a religion of war.

My uncle went overseas and met a lot of them and at first they "hated" eachother but they "got to talking" and realized they were both normal guys with normal problems. They only "hated" eachother because of the media propaganda. So no I'm not against any people. However I don't encourage religion of any kind. Nor do I attack peoples' religion.

 

I'm not religious myself and I don't agree with the religion, I believe it's not true, i also believe that islam (and other religions), do not exactly provide a very good moral framework to base your life upon, I don't hate muslims, I dont even dislike muslims, i only dislike their religion (and most other religions), I think everybody should be free to follow their own religion but when that comes into the public, government or education sector it begins to become a problem. I think I have some level of bias towards muslims which has been passed down the generations, I think there is a stigma attached to being a muslim and even i see that sometimes subconsciously when I meet or talk to a muslim, but I'd like to think that I'm intelligent/mature enough to forget stupid things like that and see somebody for what they really are.

I know this reply was 3 weeks ago, but if you view this thread again, what is your reasoning behind this? Is it because of the media bashing the religion? The extremists in the religion is the reason for the media bashing Islam. I should technically hate the religion too, since I'm in the US military. I took an oath to protect our country from any danger. According to the media, anybody in Islam is a danger, essentially put. My best friend is Muslim, and I don't hate him one bit for his religious preferences. People need to open their eyes, instead of listening to what the media puts out.

 

Obviously no because I'm a muslim myself. The hate towards Islam is still here and will go on while we have this type of media. It's scary how much media can manipulate people nowadays. However, lets also remember how christians were crushed also back in jesus age. It was later jews turn in the world wars in the early 1900's and mid 1900's... Seems like Islams turn now and will be ongoing for a while...
