Mayweather boxed to win, he won that, there's no doubt. However the match was very underwhelming and that kind of boxing from Mayweather, although very effective, is very boring. It looks like Mayweather has perfected the defensive technique, from the ropes, to clinching to counter punching. It seems like he's found a hole in the system where he boxes for the points and not the win.

Anyway I really hope boxing bounces back. This was the fight to watch and a lot of people, including non boxing fans, tuned in and ended up disappointed.

 

Pacquiao was robbed....

 

According to statistics, he did not deserve to win at all (the fight was not close). He only landed more punches than Mayweather in 2 rounds. Meaning it was essentially 10-2/9-3.


Punch stats: Total punches thrown, Floyd - 435. Manny - 429. Total punches landed, Floyd - 148, Manny - 81. Connect Percentage: Floyd - 34%, manny - 19%. Jabs thrown: floyd - 267, manny - 193, Jabs landed: floyd - 67, manny - 18. Connect percentage: Floyd - 25%, Manny - 9%. Power punches thrown: Floyd- 168, Manny - 236, Power punches landed: floyd - 81, Manny - 63, Connect percentage: floyd - 48%, Manny - 27%.

 

There isn't. It was all hype. Probably 80% of the world (and 99% of sythe) learned that Pac was Philippino and not Hispanic that day.

 

I knew Mayweather was going to win. Kind of hoped that Pacquiao would win, though.

 

I would've like to see what would've happened if there were 3 Philippino judges instead of 3 Americans.

 

It has nothing to do with the judges. Floyd clearly won that fight. The statistics speak for themselves. Even just by watching, you can see Floyd was winning the rounds. People like to come up with excuses and surprisingly, most of these people don't know boxing. I was going for Manny but it is what it is. Put your bias aside and judge what you see for what it is.

 

Floyd is a pussy, that's what my eyes saw.

Why? Because he aims to not get hit? The objective of boxing is to hit and not get hit. I'd understand if it was a sport like wrestling, or mma, but it isn't.

But for clarity, someone who isn't a pussy in boxing is someone who is stationary and just trades blows with their opponent?

I guess Mohammed Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Wladimir Klitschko, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Bernard Hopkins is a pussy according to your standards.

You're probably a casual who watches the sport when a main event gets hyped up.

 

Can you explain how Manny threw LESS punches and missed MOST of his punches? Why Floyd threw MORE punches and landed MORE punches?
