    I have a question about Eoc/Leg/07 Pking.

Hey guys, I have a question about these modes.
I played runescape back in 2007 until EOC came out, then quit until OSRS came back out.
I now only play OSRS, But RS3 has me wondering.
OSRS is old school, I know that, and pking is originally the same.
Is EOC OR Legacy Pking dead? Is there any point at all to PK in legacy or should I just stick with old school?
Also in legacy are their pures? Since the EOC made (1defence) pures useless.
I need input because Im currently working on a full Zerker, Is this a waste of my time!? :noworry:

Well I never tried to pk on legacy mode and tbh it looks trash asf. Its necessarily not that dead, but I see no point in playing. I'd would just stick to osrs.

Oh god. Legacy pking isn't worth it. Too many op weapons. Stick to osrs.

    I have a question about Eoc/Leg/07 Pking.

As someone who does both, i'll tell you how it actually is without the OSRS fanboyism.

As someone who did PK pre-EoC, i'll just tell you flat out EoC requires more skill. There are a ton more dynamics to EoC than pre-EoC. Pre-EoC is so much more heavily RNG based than EoC. EoC is based around gear more than skill levels, although they've attempted to fix that, it has honestly been to no avail, it's still tier-scape.

The only advantage Legacy has over EoC is that you can literally two hit people, no spec, with T90 or even T80 weapons. Downside is that EoC obviously has certain skills to give advantages. Freedom to break free of barrage casts, surge to get the distance advantage, and just generally you will output DPS more consistently with the myriad of skills to rotate between, and even more so if you hybrid.

It will take some getting use to, that's what so many people don't like. It's a classic case of "I don't understand it, so it must suck." A lot of my friends who tried PK'ing early on without any understanding of abilities threw in the towel once they died to someone who is actually below average.

In terms of activity OSRS will obviously be more active. So if you're after the PvP community, i'd lean more toward OSRS. EoC's PvP community consists primarily of WB's FC's who enjoy sucking each other's cocks in the "who's the best PK'er" thread.

However, there's obviously room for growth in EoC if Jagex were to adopt Mod Pi's PvP arena idea, until then, PvP will be effectively dead.

tl;dr - if you want something easy, go with OSRS, anyone can be good at it. If you want something with a more dynamic PvP experience, go with EoC, it'll take a while to really figure out the best abilities/rotations and whatnot. If you only care about the community, go with OSRS, EoC's is a small circle jerk of idiots.
