What happened to initiate pures?

Just curious as to why I hardly ever see any of these anymore. I'm thinking of making one (have an account lying around with nature spirit + recruitment drive done and 50 qp's but it's got 23 def, still might use it anyway instead of starting over) Just wanna know if before I make one there's not a big reason they're so uncommon or if it's just because people prefer 1 def/zerkers. I already have a good zerker and a main but want to make a pure and I was initiate back in actual 07 so figured I'd do the same on osrs. Thoughts on initiate pures? (also initiate pures with 23 def =S)

 

Initiate pures doesn't dominate as they used to.
If you're bridding or multi-pking an initiate pure is pretty dominant.
If you're fine with uneven numbers, 23 defence wouldn't really matter

There's actually a lot of them, but they're a bit different than you remember. Pures with 20-25 defence are used almost exclusively for clanning, as that's really the only thing the build is good for.

Thanks Doublee and eh I've noticed the 25 def accounts are all in the clans like TLP I'd probly still stay 23 unless edge pking is really that worthless as an initiate

 

In terms of 1v1 pking I reckon they are inferior to other pures.

 

Go zerker more fights + funner

 

Ini pures get dominated by zerk pures which is why a lot of people stay away from making them and just make a zerker

 

Extra combat levels for almost useless defence levels and insignificant strength bonus

 

Initiate pures are absolutely great for deep wild bridding and dragons, unfortunately, at edgeville you will have quite a hard time dealing with berserkers who have much better strength bonus and pures who will out level you in strength/range
