I do not believe in a God. In fact, I have been an atheist since I was 11 years old. A being that great would not have any logic at all. You are going into Superman territory there.
I do believe there is life out there though and we are not alone. It realms from the fact that, how can we be the only planet in the whole universe with life? If so, what does that make us, a very coincidental occurrence? However, I've learned through my astronomy career courses that there is a theory of how we all came from the stars and are the reflections of stars to see its beauty and creations. That would make much more sense to me than a God as you can see the stars through a telescope and with your own eyes in the night sky. There is visual evidence they exist. At the same time, it is rather mysterious to think why? Just why?

I do follow one philosophy: Shit just happens and is. What you see is what you get. Deal with it. :) "Another day stuck in repeat."

    1. I like everything in the bible, in the KJV that is. Some versions have been completely twisted such as the NIV which was translated to make profit, by trying not to offend the largest ammount of people.

    2. I don't find the beliefs limiting at all. Salvation makes perfect sense. Any man can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the apples in a seed. God knows exactly what will be... and he has coordinated things to align with his purpose in mind. He is building his kingdom.

    3. Truth is truth.

    4. Isn't it funny the earliest records we have as a species are from the same age we new-earth creationists believe.

    5. A lot has changed but a lot has stayed the same. Jewish holidays still coincide with astrological events. The bible tells us to not have christmas trees for example, but not too many people follow that. What we know is... the true convert falls into sin, the hypocrite dives.

Evolution is so fake! You can't just take the word for nonsensical "experts on evolution". I have watched enough and take for example the evolution of the eye, their explanation is so flawed... it doesn't make sense.

Humankind were on earth with the dinosaurs, also known as dragons.

God made the world perfect, we just f'd it up by sinning against a perfect and holy God who has written his word on our conscious.

    Do you believe in God.

I do not believe in god, if you take a few minutes and think about how huge the universe is, we can't even comprehend it. So in the christian viewpoint that would mean that there is not so much a man but a being that created not only this giant rock we live on called earth, but also created every other planet, and every other star (which is a sun, that has planets just like ours orbiting it).

Back when the catholic church ran everything and killed anyone that went against them was when they believed the sun, moon, other planets, and whatever the small twinkly things called stars were, all orbited around the earth and this made us special and showed that god put us here for a reason. Anyone that claimed anything against that logic which everyone knew to be true was killed for going/speaking against god. When other galaxies and universes were presented to them it broke away from what common knowledge taught them and what was known at the time to be true, so they fought it and imprisoned and/or killed anyone that said anything along those lines. When life on those other planets and the possibility that we aren't the only beings in all of existence arose it also caused an uproar. Even devoted Christians that helped shape what we know of the universe were killed in the name of god for their views which we know to be true today.

When you think about it, it is impossible for us to be the only halfway intelligent beings out of the billions upon billions upon billions of other planets that are just like ours, and even the ones that aren't.

One theory that I have as to god, Jesus, and everyone that claims to have spoken to them is aliens. I know some people will tell me to get the tin foil hat out and I am full of shit, but if you seriously believe we are so special and advanced compared to all other life beyond this planet then I see why we haven't advanced faster. When I say aliens, I don't mean some little green dude with huge black eyes or whatever the kids are drawing these days. But instead beings much like us or much better, that is equal / superior to us physically, mentally, and life span wise, but most likely much further advanced mentally that has visited this planet and surrounding planets like ours looking for everything we do, water, different plants, different animals, minerals, etc. This would explain other cultures and cave drawings that depict people bigger than us, more advanced, wearing space suites, etc, and everything in between. These "Aliens" would range in diversity much like we do, on our world being black, white, asian, mexican, every other slight difference that sets us apart from others.

Just think with me for a moment and imagine that same diversity on 100 planets just like ours, some are probably very similar, others are probably extremely different. So imagine that each planet has 5 similar but different primary beings such as us humans on earth have our different races and every race has a gender. On those 100 planets alone that would make 100 different species each having a variation depending where that group was developed based on climate and survival but lets just say each of the 100 species has 5 variations that means 500 different types of beings, exactly like us, some looking vaguely like us, some short and skinny, short and fat, tall and skinny, tall and fat, slimey, scaley, more advanced than us, less advances than us, breath hydrogen / carbon, any infinite number of possibilities. Those 100 planets are a percentage of a percentage of the actual planets that would have life, so to say even a couple of them aren't able to visit us or even create us and be called a god isn't very far fetched. But because we are all that we know for certain, we think of ourselves as special and explain our existence with 1 man in the sky that created us that waits by his magical gate to let us in to his gated community where we will live forever but only if we are good.

Back then in Bible times, no one could comprehend even the technology we have today, let alone a spaceship. So they use what words they can to describe every event. Descended from heaven - landed. Chariot flew into the sky - spaceship took off. Rose from the dead - Regenerated. Spoke to the burning bush - light bulbs / flashlight in a bush / other type of light emitting from a ship or other device. Moses climbed the mountain, spoke with god and came back with the 10 commandments - He indeed climbed a mountain then met another being there they handed him / told him to write something down. A great flood - large wave or rainstorm that wiped out a building / town. Lasted 40 days and 40 nights - over exaggerated from a day or 2 even a week, we all like to say the fish we caught was bigger ever time the story is told. I will return for the rapture - will visit the planet again, And any other number of explainable things, when you think just about it with our current technology and experiences and the translations and copying from thousands of years corrupting the original versions if there ever where any.

If there is one thing everyone should agree upon, it is that the church is manipulative and greedy. This was true according to the Bible, so anyone that is against all of my other views should at least agree upon this part. So what is to say they didn't rewrite any passages during the handwritten copying stages to portray their views and extinguish any others, not to mention the hundreds of translations that have occurred since the old testament which has a greater chance of being bent to the will of the church back when every other view other than god meant death / the new testament which is still over 2000 years old and was available to is translation and interpretation by anyone that rewrote it before today.

So if you believe the Bible hasn't been changed since it was originally written just because the bible says so, is fairly hypocritical and using the source to check a source is like using the word you are trying to define to explain the word.

On a separate but similar note, The word Satan was never meant to mean 1 thing as we all know it to be "The Devil", During the translation of the bible from hebrew it's meaning was changed to be one evil being that screwed everything up for everyone and continues to temp us and waits for us in "Hell" to torcher us when we die. The real definition means an adversary, someone that leads you astray / down the wrong path, is distant, against the greater good, a tempter, and probably a few other similar words that mean nearly the same thing. So Satan could be anything from your best friend down the street, that murder on death row, your teacher, your mailman, the weatherman, a Snake, a misplaced road sign, your mom, a fallen angel, and any number of other things. Just because you read or some guy stands in front of your pew and tells you that something is true, doesn't mean it is. Fact check everything, and question Reality as we know it. 1500 years ago, we knew that the world was the center of the universe, 500 years ago we knew that the world was flat, just imagine what we will know tomorrow.

Those are my opinions, I have no quarrel against Christians or any other religion. I was raised christian and have read the entire Bible (more than most Christians I know) , attended Sunday school over half of my life, and been apart of youth groups and church functions since before I could walk so if you want to challenge anything I have said relating to the bible or church please do and show me how I am wrong. I know I adressed a lot more shit than needed to answer the simple question if I believe in god, and I dont expect everyone to agree with anything I say, but I believe this answer covers it nicely and hits how small we really are are, I would like to know how the planets and stars came to be, "The big bang" just doesn't do it for me and for all we know the big bang is a kids soda fizzing while watching a movie in a never ending loop of billions of universes inside of billions of other universes inside of a marble, our entire existence and everything we know to be true is a theory and no one can prove anything without some form of doubt, and we may never know the real answers. I could have gone more in depth but I touched the surface to see if anyone would bite. If you agree / disagree with anything I said please let me know or at the very least post it here, and I will try to check back so we can have an actual discussion on it, instead of the usual "these are my views, only me and the people that believe these views are right" one sided conversations.

    Do you believe in God.

Do you like everything in the bible? Going off this, I'm guessing you believe that eating pork is wrong, do not mix two linens in your clothes, do not shave your beard, believe women cannot teach or have any authority over men, slavery can be justified, among other things?

This is implying any version of the bible is incredibly accurate because of how many times the bible has been translated and so many words are lost in translation between languages. That and statements such as that just make you sound like a religious fundamentalist.
I suppose them being limiting is subjective, but I would argue that being told what you can and cannot do is quite limiting, definitely over things such as sex.

    Ehhhh no comment

What you call truth, some may call ignorance.

It is fact that the earth is older then 10,000 years old. Hell, the oldest human remains date back 2.8 million years old.

I am aware they align with astrological events, that does not mean they did not incorporate their holidays from other religions. Hello Christmas (among other things.)
The bible can be interpreted as saying not to have Christmas Trees, others would argue that passage is forbidding idols.

I cannot tell if you're trolling. Like going through your old posts leads me to believe you have either just completely trolled your entire Sythe existence, or your rocker is slightly mis-aligned.

    Do you believe in God.

threads like these are like a psychological ploy, it always ends up in a massive argument with many disagreeances and the basis of the whole argument is people believing in an almighty entity based on what a book or another person told them.

believing in something without outright proof is basically stating you're a fool and are susceptible to beliefs without proof. it basically means you can be controlled rather easily (as i mentioned earlier with prey, it's predator/prey).

it's like yeah, what argument are you going to win against somebody who believes without evidence? they weren't convinced to believe with evidence to begin with, so why bother stating your evidence as if it has any sway?

big cycle of conflict and negative downfall with zero resolution, anybody who partakes is literally just a fool.

i only partook to say just that lol

    Do you believe in God.

Anyone that gives their opinion on anything is just stating their point to see who backs it and who is against it. That's like saying anyone with an opinion that states it is a fool, which would throw you into the pool of opinion havers. Of course for a lot of people once someone is set in their belief they will refuse to believe anything else regardless of any evidence put in front of them, but for others they may stumble upon this and it will bring up questions that most men of god wont be able to answer without contradicting themselves or esculating the question to someone that can answer it instead of someone keeping a blindfold on and pointing at the bible as a one sized fits all fill in the blank answer. That would be what we call faith, we all have faith in something some more than others, some follow it blindly. In the end who knows who is right and who is wrong, guess we'll need to die to find out what happens next.

"Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death."

So you're saying you agree with this?

Evolution is fact. You can see it in the way horses and dogs are breed to have certain qualities. Those experts are a lot smarter than you are. You can agree with evolution and still be christian though. I know catholicism allows the belief as long as man always had free will.

    I like this line.

    Do you believe in God.

Same, I haven't watched the last 2 (maybe 3?) seasons, but I really found their whole story regarding armageddon, angels, demons, and the such to be quite interesting.

Only comment I really have to make is that everyone runs on faith (practically believing without proof) all the time. While we may be able to deduce the answer, we often have faith that a building was built to the proper codes and will not collapse. People have faith their car will start in the morning, that your light is green & their light is red, that the product you are buying is genuine.

Yes, you may be able to prove these things, but we are not operating on the fact that they are proven, just faith that they do/work/are what they are suppose to be (aka faith.)

    Do you believe in God.

In Christianity, many of the old testament laws (particularly Leviticus law) are thought to have been superceded by Christ. The coming of Jesus places Christians under a new covenant, rendering the old covenant obsolete (Hebrews 8:13), and allows for the achievement of salvation through faith in Jesus and repentance of one's sins alone. This can be seen in specific parts of the New Testament (e.g. Peter's vision of unclean animals becoming clean, Jesus performing healing on the Sabbath, etc).

am I fucking invisible? Notice me!

Which is pretty much the same thing Tmoe said just in less detail, we all have faith in something, it could be in a being greater than yourself possibly named god, it could be in the twenty dollars in your pocket or even that you will wake up tomorrow.

    Do you believe in God.

This is in general, but also @Neuro

There is no reason to shit on another persons' beliefs (well, providing those beliefs are not inherently bigoted.)

I'm all for one having their own beliefs, being religious/non-religious, whatever. Thinking for yourself, formulating your own opinion, and not being spoon-fed what to think is incredibly important; nonetheless, you are not a superior human-being because you do not believe in a God.

Ahh.. words.. they are all so silly. These random characters are somehow comprehended into a meaning. You are reading lines & shapes that are constructed in a specific manner to communicate a message of some sort. We use a language of symbols & use symbols entirely to communicate. Now, I think that's silly.

Now I ask, why exactly is it a silly word? Not everything (well, at least right now) can be empirically proven, hint the word.

By the way, you ignored the entire post except for the concept of faith.

I am somewhat aware of this, but it does depend on the sect of Christianity you fall under, correct? With different interpretations individuals come to believe different things.

I'm not going to act as if I think the Bible is some horrible book. I have not read it and I am not incredibly versed on it. I do know good values can be found within it, but I am also aware there are plenty of not-so-good things. It was written by man (from my perspective) and man has a habit of putting their own beliefs into their works.
Note: I understand that in the Christian faith it was a book crafted by God/Holy Spirit through man, etc.

Perhaps he doesn't have a response

Ps. I enjoyed the read nonetheless

    Do you believe in God.

I believe in god. That god being Prince Philip! Two years ago I was on vacation, and I visited the Yaohanen tribe on the southern island of Tanna in Vanuatu. The tribe told me all they knew, and man, were they spot on in their beliefs. The showed me that Prince Philip is actually a divine being! Wow! What a neat experience I had!
