Cruel Machine, im not saying im 100% disagreeing with you but i do want to look at the other aspect of it.

considering no verses talk against protection/masturbation....i have yet to think its wrong.

so is many other things people do on a daily basis....being able to live at all is a gift but we all abuse it to some extent.

back when there wasnt 6.4 billion people...there wouldnt be enough land to hold humans if condoms wernt invented.

why not, he gave us sugar...myswell eat it.

 

Pyro, right and wrong isn't common sense. Every culture defines it differently; we learn right from wrong by how we're raised.

On subject, I'm an atheist, so my opinion is clear. If masturbation were a sin, there'd be no more room in hell.

right and wrong...culture has made some things right that are wrong biblically (gay marriage). Im talking religious right and wrong, is there a sin that the Bible states that would not be considered common sense?

Lust-->adultery/cheating on wife
getting drunk--> loose control of body
killing someone
stealing
cursing

maybe it takes more then common sense, but if you think about any sins...i cant think of one that someone would mistake to be right.
(its not like every Christian starts there walk with God off by going through the Bible and writing down all the "rules")

i believe there to be two types of atheists....those who choose to ignore religion/ the possibility of God because they just dont want to take the time or give up some of the activities they take part in. The second would be a person who has thought things out and truly believes there is no God. which are you? (offtopic, pm me if you want...just interested)

depends on the concept of entrance into heaven...As a Christian even a person who has committed murder can enter heaven.

The Bible has contradictions, many things have been lost in translation, and many things have been edited (or outright removed) by kings of old. It'd be a mistake to live your life by the word alone.
The Bible also fails to explicitly deem the law of Moses to be expired. So are you saying that we should still be sacrificing animals and practicing all the "eye for an eye" laws that the Bible so clearly tells us to?

That doesn't disprove anything. That only succeeds in proving many other things to be wrong.

Perhaps the second coming is to occur when the Earth is full and it's resources are empty.
Else we all die, thereby proving Christianity as a whole to be wrong... and putting an end to our worthless existence. lol

 

does every word matching matter? its the messages the words spell out that matter and every message intended to be given through it is still in there....prove me wrong.
show me some contradictions that do not involve possible spelling mistakes (considering it was translated by humans...a bad contradiction would be, it says 15004 horses here but 150004 here).
