Smithing to level 75

Hello, I currently have been trying to get 75 smithing for a while i started at 60 .I'm very fustrated because I was told from 61 if i use 3.75k mith bars on battle axe i'll be able to get 75 smithing and that was false because i only got 66 so can someone tell me the quickest way possible for me to get 66>75 smithing and hm exactly do i need etc.

I'm currently 59 on my main account right now however on my old one, I did do steel plate bodies. It did take a while and at times I switched a little bit to see what would be faster but I mostly stuck with steel plates. I would look up a smithing skill calculator and determine how many plates would need to be made and then see how many bars are needed to be purchased
