Want to lose weight, hate vegetables.

    Hey everyone, some basic information..

I'm 25 years old, 6'3 and 250 lbs. I've struggled with my weight for a long time and i think i'm finally ready to get it under control. My main issue is that i hate vegetables... I become physically ill from eating any sort of vegetable.

It also doesnt help that i love soda.

My first step of course is to cut out soda and switch it to water or some alternative...

My question here is, besides working out (which i plan on doing) are there any other suggestions that anyone may have for me to lose some weight when i despise vegetables? and other than the obvious eat fruits or mask vegetables with fruits.

    Thanks!

your veggies arent your problem, its eating less fattening, healthier food. Like greek yogurt, chicken, stuff like that and healthy low fat and not a lot of carb meals, fruits also bro. veggies isnt your problem the start is to eat healthier and cut the soda and go to the gym if you want more help or detailed help feel free to add me on skype

Diets say eat vegetables because they're high in vitamins, but the only factor in losing weight is your calorie intake and output. Perhaps take a multivitamin to clear the gap.

I'm not asking for a miracle diet.

i've read that multivitamins are a waste? Mainly because you get the appropriate vitamins from food you eat and excess is peed out....

Don't have multivitamins replace your need for a good diet. Do you hate absolutely ALL vegetables? Maybe walk around in the grocery store and find things that you don't mind? Vegetables come in a wide variety, and can be cooked in various ways. You can eat them raw/cooked, you can eat them with meats, incorporate them in your dishes etc.

running is the best, because when you run for two hours you sweat a lot sometimes you can lose up to 4-5 kg however you're unable to run so much first time, this will take some time, at least three or four weeks until you can run those long distances. I also recommend warm clothing it does't matter whether the out doors is hot or cold :)

Want to lose weight, hate vegetables.

In the past year and a half, after I left my job where literally I was sitting and not doing shit for 50 hours a week, I was 225 lbs, 5'8. Real big. I'm down to 165 now. I'm not a pro or anything, but I'm going to tell you outright from my experiences, there's no easy way to lose weight, you have to be absolutely dedicated. You need to engage in Interval training, which involves high intensity work-out followed by a short cool down. If you have a track, how I started out was I sprinted the straights and walked the curves, I slowly moved up to sprinting a lap, walking a quarter lap, and then sprinting until I hit 4-5 miles. Diet is also important, I've found that eating low sugar/low fat foods, and trying to have a deficit of 500 calories under your recommended daily intake is best for losing weight. I'm at 15% body fat from 30+%. So I'm doing well, and the best advice I can give you is to literally be so dedicated to you losing weight, you make it what you live for. Drink lots of water, eat enough protein so you're losing mainly fat, make it a goal to lose 1-2 lbs a week. Also, take a before and after picture. You'll be happy you did.

Restrict your diet, eat less of what you'd normally eat in a day. Problem solved.

Want to lose weight, hate vegetables.

I am 6 ft 8, and currently weigh 220, I am far from ripped or very physically fit. My max weight being 300 lbs 3-4 years ago, I drank pop every day and ate huge amounts of food because it was available. I have never been big on working out, even though I try to do a few sit ups and push ups on occasion but whenever I get into a regular routine I blow it off and spend nearly the same amount of days sitting around doing nothing as the days I "worked out" if even for a few minutes.

So after cutting out the pop, a lot of the extra chub seemed to melt off and continues to do so to this day with no running or huge amounts of exercise other than using dumbbells and getting in a few reps when I could. A lot of people can barely recognize me anymore.

Stick to Water. Its good for everything in your body, especially your muscles and brain. It will also help regulate your digestive system and metabolism. Stay away from pop, when I say that I don't mean only have 2 a day. Cut out pop completely. I can honestly say on average I probably have about 2 cups of pop per month usually just when mixing drinks, from the 7 or more 32 oz cups that I originally drank per day.

I'm not the best role model but I am still working on myself daily and have come a long ways. What most people don't understand is that drastic changes don't happen in the real world like the people on TV tell you it will. Perhaps if you jog a mile or more per day, on top of an hour workout of the different machines it would be possible to loose a good amount of weight in a short time but that is more of a after you are halfway in shape workout instead of starting from scratch. Plus with me at least, when I do work out fairly hard I get burned out and am sore as shit so if I do that same thing for a couple days I need/like to have at least 1 or more days off before repeating. If you push yourself to hard in the beginning you will only turn yourself off to the idea of continuing.

So when you don't lose the 10 pounds you wanted to in a week after starting, you binge eat or give up completely until next month after trying again only with the same result and in the end only gaining weight. That was my problem growing up, and the same one I fight with daily. The best advice I can think of when it comes to your work out is to do some sort of physical activity everyday. It doesn't matter if it is 5-10 pushups, doesn't even matter if you can't do 1 pushup. Just try to do what you can't then do 5-10 of something you can. Eventually what you couldn't do before will become easier till you can do it 5-10 times per day. Over time these will become sets of 10-25 possibly doing 3+ sets per day of each but just try to do something every day to keep everything tight and working on full throttle. This time Last year I couldn't do 1 pushup, today I can do 15 in one go on a good day. May not seem impressive to a lot of people, but it is huge for someone that the doctors said would never see his penis again. I showed them!

It takes dedication, power over your impulses and urges to eat, and requires you to actually feel hungry for a while and although its not required I would recommend going a day without eating and only drinking fluids (NOT POP, or anything overly sugary). You can survive for like 12 days without food, especially when working off of huge amounts of excess stored body fat, some people have gone much longer, the only thing you need is water, remember that.

My favorite drinks are Water, Powerade/Gatorade, apple juice, sweet tea and Arnold Palmer (sugar I know, but I don't like unsweet tea, and hey still better than pop). Also food to go for is protein, I make a mean steak and if I had more money would eat steak every night. And with your Vegetable hatred, I have always said, anything can taste good if its cooked/seasoned right, but I personally hate cooked carrots with a passion, Ill eat them raw all day however just the mushy hotness of it being cooked... My favorite veggies are mushrooms (sauteed in butter, pepper, salt, and garlic salt, fucking amazing with any type of meat or on a salad), peas (again butter, garlic salt, pepper, salt), and Salad (Ceaser Salad Dressing, shredded cheese, croutons, bacon, Greek olives, fetta cheese).

Being fit isn't about eating your vegetables, although it cant hurt. It's about eating in moderation, eating what is halfway healthy for you (Consult The Food Pyramid, and eat NEXT TO NO SWEETS, everyday real homemade food has plenty of natural sugars to fill that part of your bodies need), and like I said before actually feeling hungry once in awhile. In the beginning if you're not use to it it'll probably hurt, but the saying no pain no gain means more once you start to gain anything that inches you closer to your main goal. Do your best to stay away from fast food joints, and if possible cook your own meals. If you want some sort of "Fast Food", check out subway, They make a mean salad and don't get me started on their BLT, Italian Herbs and Cheese, everything except for cucumbers and green peppers, with vinegar, mayo, buffalo and sriracha sauce. I'd Shank someone for that sandwich, and now I know whats for lunch tomorrow. Although everyone recommends the healthy bread, wheat is just to dry for my taste, add enough vinegar and it's alright, but the subway workers don't like using a whole bottle just for little old me.

Those are my preferences and what has been working for me, although everything can be tweaked to max settings it is a good start for most people since it did so well for me.
However, I know everyone has different taste buds, so tailor everything to you. What one person does may not work for another. Although I would recommend that Subway sandwich to everyone that could ever possibly view this post, if you like cucumbers get them, if you'd rather drink orange juice than apple, do it. Can't do a pushup, work on anything else till you can. much further than I could dream to be? go for a jog every other day or whatever you want to do. This is what I believe to be a decent outline to follow, just remove, then plug and play whatever you see fit to match your needs, tastes, and speed at which the end goal will be reached.

If you must, work yourself into it, just don't take to long or you'll fall back and lose any footing gained.

Hope any of this was helpful. Like I said, I am still working on myself, but this is what I have been doing and it has helped me out a lot.

If I need to be clearer, you want me to go into any more detail on anything I mentioned, or have any questions on cooking or anything else pm or Skype me.

    i love you.

You and I (except for my hatred of vegetables) seem to be exactly the same, i drink probably the same amount of soda or more that you did. At my highest i probably drank 1000-1200 calories of soda per day. I'm going to follow your advice and hopefully have the same success you had!

Awesome, I'm sure you'll see some great results dude. But don't freak out when it doesn't happen overnight, in a week, or even months, This is an entire lifestyle change and requires dedication and motivation. Other people that aren't physically fit will tell you you cant do it or shouldn't because it is human nature to want to be better than other people, when we get put down we put someone else down in turn to feel better about ourselves, I am guilty of it as much as everyone else. Just don't lose sight of the end result before you even begin the journey ahead. It won't be easy but anything worth having never is. The first step is losing some of the extra weight then the next step is shaping what body fat you have left into muscle, exercise throughout the entire process will only help you, but it may not be visible for some time. I still have a considerable layer of fat on my stomach, but I now have some muscle under it that has developed in the past year and each month I notice it grow. Good Luck!

Cut out soda and drinking nothing but water + black/green tea for the past 8 days.
Replaced all my lunch fattening meals with high protein foods or something small like whole wheat cereal (addicted to special k all of a sudden)

Lost 9 pounds so far. Really happy :D

    Thanks for the help!
