    Laptop comparison help

I purchased a laptop recently and what I received is different to what I was expecting however I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not.

I was expecting a PC like so:
    CPU: AMD A6-4400M 2.7GHz
    Memory: 6 GB
    Hard drive: 600 GB
    Screen size:17"
    VGA ATI Radeon HD 7520G

    What I received was:
    CPU: AMD A6-3420M APU 1.5 / 2.4 GHZ
    Memory: 4 GB
    Hard drive: 700 GB
    Screen size:17"
    VGA ATI Radeon HD 6520G

How should I feel about this? Also would this processor primarily operate at the turbo speed of 2.4 GB? How much slowing down could I expect when it's using more cores?

4GB of memory is a bit piss poor but I bet you can upgrade it yourself which is super easy if it has a free memory port.

As previously stated your ram is considerably low and can cause your laptop to slow down quite alot if you're looking to multi-task or doing video rendering.

Your processor is not the best of it's kind and if you're going to clock it to recieve 2,4ghz i'm concerned you might easily overheat the laptop sincei 've heard that's a big problem.

Your Video Card clocks out at 400MHz and sadly lacks no dedicated video memory which slows down the card

If you're looking to be gaming on this rig it will work, but you won't be able to max out every game at it's maximum in high definition.

I'm guessing you will have to play on low presets on newer games to be able to handle the games.

I have compared both of your specs and I can see a difference. What you got promised is quite alot better than what you recieved. The video card has more capabilities, more ram, better CPU without overclocking it. If there is something to complain about, it's that.

So the processor needs to be manually overclocked to reach the 2.4 GHz? From what I understood it would run at that and slow down when necessary to activate more cores or to prevent overheating etc. Would you say it's better or worse than the Dual Core 2.7 Ghz? From what I've read and SuF's post I'm inclined to believe I've come away with the better processor of the two.

So there is a significant drop off from this graphics card to the one I was promised? Sorry for all the questions I just want to partly understand what's what before I complain so I have some facts behind me.

I don't care if it will be fine, I care whether I got ripped off or not and have a cause for complaint.

This processor you got is a 4 cores 4 threads CPU, what you expected was a 1 core 2 threads.
So then if the 1 core 2 thread is twice as face, the 4 cores one got more "workers".

The AMD A6-3420M is cheaper btw, so yeah its kind of aip off.

    The gpu- http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/inde...20&compare=radeon-hd-7520g-vs-radeon-hd-6520g

Each has its own better fields but mostly the one you expected takes the lead.

The ram/hdd are surely a let down since its always the more than better(as long as its as same speed)

One thing I forgot to mention: both of these CPUs are APUs meaning the integrated graphics unit is in the CPU, so the GPU change came at the cost of a better CPU.

You got less ram and a slightly weaker processor. The upsides is you got 100GB more.

Which PC manufacturer did you get it from?
Definitely a rip-off, that extra 100GB which you probably wont even utilize is to deceit you into thinking u got something possibly better.

If you are not building your own laptop, i'd suggest just getting it from a major manufacturer, they exploit economies of scale and certainly have much better customer support (warranty/technical issues) as well.

You got ripped off. The 6520 is a year and a half older and slower. You got 2GB less of ram and the processor you received is negligible in difference but still not better than the one you paid for

    Edit:

    Just double checked the processors:

The 3420m clock is 1.5ghz turbo to 2.4
The 4400 is 2.7 and turbo to 3.2 according to cpuboss
