If he was not a mod he would be banned i see some people on here get banned for saying crap like that plus i never even say lobster say his msn was hacked peopel are putting words in his mouth

im not saying he is guilty but he must be punished so things like this wont happen like put a title that says TRADE WITH CAUTION! or REPORTED SCAMMER!

Well maybe instead of msn we should create our own sythe.org IM system.

    Safer...

poor idea because even the most trusted people that have gone through this site have been severely hacked and our accounts have been used to scam and such, my self and Vic that i know of off the top of my head.

all that calls for is a temp ban until everything blows over, and there is IP confirmation that can always prove it is you

Duch, IP's are a bad indication. There are always proxies, and people do move around, go on vacation, etc. Unless the IP can be matched to a known scammer, I don't see it as any solid excuse.

I mean to point no fingers when I remind you that one time, one of your hackers/impostors was found to be someone on your address - your brother, I believe. IP's really aren't reliable.

And, trusted members do scam. Everyone deserves some level of scrutiny when they claim it wasn't them.

Anyway, I still think "being hacked" is too difficult to set a singular punishment for.

Not everyone can afford or knows of good antivirus, firewall, spyware software. Yes, you have to scan files for your own safety, but it is not your fault if you get hacked.

If your house gets robbed because your lock isn't very good is that your fault? No. That's the thief's fault. It's ok to inform users of good software that will protect them, but it is wrong to punish them for something that is not their fault.

Yes, you should be responsible for your possessions.

Now look at it a diffrent way. You've been a member and trusted MM for a while and out of nowhere, you can't go on your MSN. Hmmmm... yout fault? I don't think so. It's not your fault if you got hacked. I think you should take all precausions to prevent it but if it happens, you shouldn't be the one to take the fall.

You don't automatically get banned for getting hacked. You only get banned if you get hacked, and you don't repay what has been scammed, of done.

So if someone hacks me and steals someone else's money in my name, I should pay the person back? That is bad logic.

I like the idea, but in The Lobster's case, I met the person who was impersonating him. He was terrible at what he did. He said ok what world as soon as he joined the conversation during a pin trade. Then, stalled for 10 minutes when I asked for a PM while thinking of what to say. I somewhat agree with this rule but mostly it is just the fault of the buyer. I can never pick sides

yes i agree with everything you said. you HAVE to be held responsible for your accounts. they are yours lol. and without it scamming by officials can happen commonly because they are conveniently 'hacked'

First of all, you have no say in what rules are made or not made, your opinion does not matter -- this is not a democracy, if you don't like it feel free to leave. Second of all, we have proof that Lobster WASN'T lying about getting hacked, and that he WILL repay the person that got scammed. Our decision is not up for community discussion. Locked.
