I went to my steam groups and it says that I'm in the group, but when I go to the group page it says member invite only?

I got a screen using the steam client to see my groups and then looking at the groups page in my browser: http://i.imgur.com/9vnh9nZ.png

It was only after I clicked join group, that the invite only shows up. Sharky try to actually join it on your side account and see if that happens
