Factors Affecting Macroing Bans

I heard that the age of the account is a determining factor of whether the ban is a permanent ban or just a short 48-hour ban, but this is most likely just hearsay. What do you think are possible factors that affect these types of bans? Also, what are the chances of getting banned for macroing, and for getting banned for macroing although you've never done it? The latter happened to me twice already on 2 accounts which I used to spam click drop parties, so I'm wondering how does Jagex actually determine how you're botting/how long of a ban does your botting warrant.

One of my really old accounts got perma banned instantly when I was stupidly trying a bot on it without knowing the ban rate. This was a little while ago

 

I hardly believe that you were banned due to auto clicking at a drop party... I use mouse keys and auto clickers wayyyy too frequently.. Never a ban on that account. Sure, I have been banned for botting like an hour into it.. I feel like a major factor is repetition.

This is my idea how Jagex detects bots:

They run some sort of sweep throughout the game to see the location of the players that are online. Once they get that number, they have some sort of program telling them which accounts have been doing actions over and over and how long that they have been there. If the computer detects an account with a screwed up name that has been doing the same stuff for hours, it will most likely be banned..

That is the way that I think Jagex does it and I'm not at all saying that it is true.. just a guess

In terms of the age of your account, yes, I'm sure that plays into their decision making. If you're caught botting on a "main" account, if you're given a second chance, you're likely to renew your subscription. If it's purely a farming account / low level, a permanent ban will cause you to create a new account and subscription.

 

I think it is actually totally up to the discretion of the moderator banning you. I've personally seen many become instantly banned and some given the less intensive option. I have been out of the scene for a while so things may have very much changed.

I think repetition is part of it but RID bots do repetition and don't get banned.

 

I'm not sure about how old your account is affecting your ban, I got perm banned on a 5 year old account last year, and I got temp banned on a 3 month old account this year. I dont think that affects it much, its just the severity of the offence.

 

Macroing factors can easily be detected by analyzing spare accounts and purposely getting them banned and tracking what did what and how it happened.

Most factors include, but are not limited to:

- Area of botting

- Type of resource

- Skill

- Time of day

Of course how long you are botting is the main factor, but the above are additional, yet small types you should be on the lookout for.

 

They do link new accounts to your old accounts and monitor you much more closely if you have been banned before.

 

Pretty sure the payment method you use factors as well, if you use a paypal from an account that got banned on a new account it could act as a flagging method.

 

Yep. RID listed all the rules you had to follow to not get banned with his bot and they all involved leaving absolutely no trace between your new account and your old account. Jagex was so annoyed with his undetectable bot that they were banning people on even the slightest evidence.

Which pretty much translates into "RIP" for Jagex and their attempt at stopping bots.

 

Hopefully Genesis suceeds otherwise all this patient waiting would be for nothing.
