I give up on rank matchmaking

In my last 14 games, I have 12 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and I haven't ranked up yet (silver 3). I am at least 3rd in every game. I'm currently on an 8 win streak. Pretty much the few people I play with have already ranked up. Same guys who usually bottom frag when we play. They're making jokes on how once I rank up, I'd be a global elite or my account is bugged.

I wasn't on a losing streak before all this either.

 

Lol I am Silver 3 too. Anyways the rank system is pretty weird imo. When I first started off at S1 at first I went 8-0 and nothing, lost like 2, got back into it and went 9-0 and still nothing and then I lost some and a few games later that I won I ended up ranking.

 

It was like a slap to my face when I found out that a friend who was by far bottom fragging hit silver elite, he eventually went back to 3 and now 4. He had terrible scores (last by far is normal) every time we played with him. Another friend can't believe that guy not only ranked up before me, but he ranked up twice.

We are the team on top, and he is the one with a 6-23 (Aicake**) score. The other Aicake is actually a girl that has only been playing for maybe 2 weeks and scored much higher (13-19) than him. That same person hit silver elite somehow...

 

I used to be Supreme a few weeks ago, and yes, the rankup system is fucked up. I don't really care about my rank anymore though. At least on 1/5 games on Supreme there was a blatant hacker and who knows how many 'silence' hackers trying to hide it. I'm usually playing with my team nowadays and we just play for fun. It's just hard to improve as a team if you're motivated to play and you're facing a hacker every few matches. Happens in both MM and FaceIt/ESEA and Valve doesn't do shit about it. The only thing they see are dollar signs. There are so many broken things in the game and all they do is releasing more music kits, skins and stickers.

 

Although the ranking system isnt revealed, pretty sure that regardless how how annoying it is kdr has nothing to do with ranking up. It mostly has to do with MVP's/Wins, but I do understand what you mean about the fact that you are doing like 5 times as good as the worst one and yet the worst one ranks up.

 

I never said it had to do anything with KDR, however if your KDR is bad then odds are you can't carry your weight then you won't get as much MVPs (only for planting) or round wins. I was trying to give you a comparison to the player who ranked up twice before I even ranked up once. Out of curiosity, what was your source on the MVP/Wins?

I'm curious what region you play in. I occasionally watch streams and I rarely see anyone openly hacking, or anyone even significantly better than the streamer that could be hacking. Those streamers are from America though.

 

I'm from Europe. Could be the difference. I often don't call anybody a hacker right away, but it's obvious when he's spinbotting, shooting through smokes/walls and advertising his boosting service in the chat. It takes the fun away.

 

Not really any specific source which is why I said that I was pretty sure. It's mostly when you are looking around on steamcommunity's discussion or maybe the GO Subreddit that's usually what people says but of course it can be wrong.

 

You should actually enjoy your rank, and get all those wins you can until you will get rank up.
It's easy for you to get the win counter up.

 

I'd enjoy it but the games have been somewhat too easy. There's not much of a challenge. The only way we'd lose, or come close to losing, is if someone abandons/dcs or plays that bad. The latter happens more often than you think, which really surprises me. Playing bad is one thing, but I've bumped into players as CT side trying to pick up the bomb for example. Higher rank would eventually mean more competent teammates and less likely bad players.

I eventually ranked up. 13/15 of my last games were wins, 1 draw, 1 loss and the last 9 wins were in a row which is pretty insane to think about leaving just silver.

I see a lot of people getting stuck in silver, I came from CS 1.6 and went directly on MM, started at like silver 2-3 and won like 90% of my silver games. I got to MG2 in about 60 games total, crazy huh. If you live in Europe hit me up.

Trust me man, I played 200 competitive on my first account and it took nearly all of them to get out of silver even if I knew I was playing at a mid gold Nova level.. With enough determination and practise you will only get better. I also find it good to find friends to play with. My second account took me nearly a 25/2 record to get sem-gn1...

There is nothing wrong with the ranking system, it just works like this:

After getting KDR+wins = going Rank up.
So if you have 100+ wins it is a pain in the ass to get out of that rank because at that time your KDR has been set at the level you normally play on.

If you have less then 50 wins you will rank up within 10wins + positive score.
If you have more then 100 it can take up to 20 or more before you rank up.

 

This doesn't make any sense. The longer you're stuck on a rank, the longer it takes to get out.

 

I find it worse playing with friends because I tend to lose a lot more. Maybe it's just those few friends I play with.

That is definitely not how the ranking system works. That is the most ridiculous guess for how the system works Ive heard so far.

 

Apith, if you are queueing EU you are welcome to play with me and my friend, we tend to win the majority of the games we are doing and we are all S4.

 

Not my region, however you might want to consider Add My msn (Art) who also plays on Europe. Only thing is he's an MG2.
