Whats good FPS for Runescape 3? What do you get?

I was wondering what good FPS was on Maxed Settings Runescape 3 is (Bloom on).

In fixed screen mode, I'm always getting 50 fps, with very few spikes (maxed settings).

On full-screen, I still usually hit 50, but it sometimes drops to as low as 35 (but fluctuates to 50 usually).

Just wondering if this is normal for you guys? I know the cap is 50, I think 60 in HTML5 I've read.

What's your FPS? Also what graphical setting are you on?

You can find your fps by pressing alt & ~ keys and typing "displayfps" in the developer console and it should be in the upper right hand corner.

Interested to see what you get. Fps doesn't bother me, more of a curiosity thing. Google search didn't yield much that wasn't old.

Only getting 28-30 with everything on except bloom including 4x anti-aliasing. Goes down to 15-20 with bloom, but I'm at Seren stones so lots of lava titans lol. For a $100 card though, I can't complain.

I'd guess your 50 is almost, if not exactly, as good as it gets.

 

Thanks bro, yeah, I don't think 28-30 is bad at all. If I recall correctly, I thought I read somewhere that the human eye has difficulty processing the difference of anything above 30 fps. I think it varies to the viewer, however.

I just recently built a new computer, so I'm not surprised it's able to quietly run Runescape near & at max-fps. However sometimes the server ping also plays a big part in FPS.

I tend to get 40-50 fps at all times. I cant tell much difference between 30-50 - if even at all. Could all be a mental thing lol (thinking there's a difference when there is not one). When I was testing FPS I was in Varrock and Grand Exchange, seemed to get good FPS.

Thanks for sharing, interested to hear what other people get. I wish I was part of the HTML 5 beta to see if I could get it up to 60, just for fun lol.

Also, RS wiki says:

A small warning: The displayfps command can cause more FPS cut when it is active, as the system must fetch current states of resources in real-time, which can overload some systems that are already suffering low FPS.

Impact of FPS

The maximum FPS that can be displayed in RuneScape is 50; if you are reaching this level, that is great! Runescape is playable at FPS above 10, generally, but keep in mind that for some tasks, having a higher FPS is a good thing. If your FPS falls below 15, you may notice that the game seems to stutter intermittently, and that tasks that require fast reflexes, such as boss killing, are nearly impossible to complete effectively. If this is the case, try reducing your graphics settings and following the other steps listed above to increase your FPS. Avoiding large crowds can also help to increase FPS, as the more players are in the area, the more graphics your system has to render.

So seems like your 28-30 FPS is more than adequate. I'm gonna play around with it tomorrow just for fun.

 

I'm maxing FPS at fullscreen + max graphics I think, I don't play anymore but just thought I'd check for ya

 

Yeah I walked around last night some more, max fps in most areas except the larger cities where it fluctuates between 35-50.

 

I guess anything above 20 should be playable for runescape except when getting into the more complicated scenarios. But i guess like all games the more the merrier up to a certain point lol.

I used to hit 180 fps in gw2 except when massive battles came along and it dropped to around 10 lol same goes for smite where when unlocked i Max fps at 150. Just makes the game seem more fluid even though there's a limit to how much we can see. Wonder what it would look like without our brains holding us back

 

Yeah the Official Wiki went as far to say the game is playable at 10 fps +, so it's not a huge deal. On my toaster computer I was very likely getting under 10 fps.

Think I'm around 50 FPS in WoW too.

 

Never playing rs3 on high detail...just looks awful. But on low detail 49
