The cost to having a website made

I was wondering how much it would cost to create a site from scratch. I was thinking of a site that sells clothing so it would be simple and clean, think of clothing websites. How much would that cost me?

~$50-$500 - the design depending on what you're looking for (one time)
    ~$15 a domain (yearly)
    ~$7 for hosting (monthly)

So $500 can get me a glitch-free clothing-themed website (think of clothing websites) where people can order securely? Does it include the coding along the theme?

Well the price generally depends on the coder, if you're going to get a professional with a degree it might go up to $5000 but yeah that's the general idea :p if you're interested pm me I can fix you a good price.

You can easily outsource this to India, there's plenty of good Indian developers that can do this at a fairly decent price.

Domain can be gotten for $1.5 or so with GoDaddy coupon, hosting can be done even cheaper than $7/month but that's fairly average for a decent host like HostGator.

As for the actual cost for the site, like I mentioned above, it would be cheapest to go with an Indian developer. Price will vary though depending on how you want your site built, using a CMS and a customized theme, or building from scratch with HTML. A responsive WordPress theme will run at around $150, but if you want to use Magento it's usually a minimum of $350 from last time I checked to around an upwards of $800.

It honestly depends on the functions you want your site to have. If you want it as a fully functioning ecommerce site, complete with checkout and cart, you're probably looking around $500 at the minimum.

Edit: This is if you are outsourcing to independent contractors or other countries. Using a U.S firm or an actual brick and mortar one will run you into the low $X,XXX range most likely.

Virtual, I checked out your services on your thread. You seem talented but I'm only getting a general idea for now but when I do decide to get it started, I'll definitely contact you. Would you be able to do the whole secure checkout and cart thing? From scratch to finish or would I have to get someone to finish what you cannot do? I have absolutely no clue on how these things are made from the ground up so pardon my ignorance.

Panda, can you tell me where I can contact these Indian developers? I'm a little weary of trying them out because I have no references or know anything about their service. Maybe, my paranoia will lessen as I see the professionalism of their business.

    Thank you for the responses.

I could do it all for you. My rates on something like this start at about $800+ depending on features needed.
