    Help me get into HipHop

I haven't listened to any hiphop at all until the last few months or so. I've found that some songs I instantly love and can't stop listening to, but a lot of others I can't stand which makes it really difficult to find new music. I seem to like more upbeat songs with good distinctive backtracks.

Does anyone have some suggestions for albums/songs to check out?

Examples of some songs I fell in love with --

Kanye West is definitely one to check. 808's & Heartbreak is, I think, his best work. "Heartless" "Street Lights"(one of my favourite songs), "Pinocchio Story"

If you haven't heard any Jay Z, his 96' album The Blueprint is a definite listen-to.

I see you've gotten into Pro Era.
A lot of the singles off of the B4DA$$ Joey Bada$$ album (his debut) are really well put together and definitely Hip Hop. "Christ Conscious" "Big Dusty" "No. 99"
He has tons of good songs. "95 Til Infinity" "Unorthodox" "LongLiveSteelo"

Capital $teez is the late co-leader of Pro Era, but he committed suicide last year (hence LongLiveSteelo). TONS of sick flow. "135" "Apex" "Survival Tactics"

Since Pro Era hasn't been out too long (2011), it'd be a good find to just go through their discography, especially 2011-mid 2014. Definitely check out "Like Water"

Flatbush Zombies is a chill. Check out there "Palm Trees"

Mac Miller is pretty tight too. His debute mixtape "K.I.D.S." is the fucking bomb, and he kept delivering good music. Check out his "Blue Slide Park" and "Watching Movies With The Sound Off" tapes.

Never hurts to listen to some Tupac either.

I'd recommend listening to somebody like J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar, but just about every rapper has songs that you probably won't like.
Edit: Me as a rap fan, I don't like SOME music from my favorite artist of all time.

Ab-Soul is in Kendrick Lamar's rap group and is a lot less known, but his nickname is Soul Brotha #2, judging by the songs you posted you'd like him, I know I do. Here is a song I can suggest with Ab-Soul and Kendrick.

Edit again: Never Let You Down is the most underrated greatest rap song of all time ever if that makes sense :)
