Would you like to know when youre going to die?

I've thought about this and came to the conclusion that whatever the scenario would be, I wouldn't want to know when I'd die. First of all, I'd freak out about the date, everyday I would come closer to it and I guess I would go insane after a while. Second of all, I wouldn't live my life any other way if I knew when I'd die. I am living and have always been living my life as if this would be my last day, and I think that's awesome and the way it should be.

 

I would like to know, because I have always wanted to create a legacy. This would tell me how long I have to do that. Put shit into perspective and force myself to work towards it faster. I would also probably try to stop fate by not doing or just fixing whatever it was the killed me unless it was old age. If something like that was inevitable though like on final destination, it would be some scary shit because once you dodge the first bullet you saw coming the rest are invisible.

 

Well the thing about fate is that it can't be stopped, so trying to stop it would just eventually lead to it in a separate way. However, that is a discussion for another thread

 

Death is just the next great adventure for the wel-organized mind. But it's said that we will be able to upload our brains to computers in around 40-50 years so yea...

 

Doesn't really matter, but I would both like and not like to. It's a hard choice.

Imagine knowing which day of the year but not which year, that'd worry me so much.

 

I'd say yes, I think in general people would actually care more about life when they are looking death in the eyes, and appreciate what they have.

 

I think this would make me paranoid for me to live life as I am right now...so i suppose not.

If i had an option to actually know when i was going to die i would say no. The reason is if did find out i wouldn't be able to sleep and i would do crazy shit and then have regrets when i die.

 

Yeah, even now I often find myself awake all night thinking about dying and imagining NOTHING after death.

 

Ill be honest I'm kinda religious but i do think something is there after you die.
O if something like the Walking Dead started and on the news they said that zombies are attacking i would just simply kill myself because hell i hate zombies ... i rather watch them being killed on Zombie games or on Walking Dead.

Honestly, yes I would like to know and i'll explain why. For starters there are so many deaths everyday where people may have said things to people in their life that they will never be able to take back. Trust me when I tell you that saying something you didn't mean to someone you love just a few hours before they (or you) die without having the chance to take it back will follow you for the rest of your (or their) life no matter how hard you try to get it off your mind. On the other hand there may be something you always wanted to say to someone but never got the chance to say it or vise versa.

I would also want to know when i'm going to die so that I know exactly how much time I have left to complete everything I want to do in life before my time has ended. Too many people die young and at the most random times, I would hate for that to happen to me. Speaking of which just last week a coworker of mine (age 29) fell asleep behind the wheel of his car after leaving work and never woke up. He had no DNR so the doctors kept trying to bring him back until there was no sign of life. I wouldn't want all that, not knowing when your time is up, thinking of your family standing there crying wondering if you're going to be alright or not. Thinking about it now actually hits pretty deep.

 

Yea i would kinda go both ways like agreeing to the fact that i would like to know to save a person from innocently dying or like you said maybe you never know if you will see that person again.

Recalling the scene from Spider Man movies. The Uncle dies after he has an argument with Peter Parker.

 

I'd like to not know as I'll only think of it as it comes. I don't need a reason to be with family. I won't say I'm ready for death yet though so I don't want to think of it.

 

Heck no, the stress would destroy me.
