Why has the amount of people playing oldschool gone up a lot the past few weeks?

Let's just hope the gold farmers raid isn't going to be exaggerated. I understand a lot of people [on this website] are making money out of this game by bot-farming, but in all honesty, I wish them the worse as they ruin economy and a more enjoyable gameplay.

Not necessarily. Sharks would be like 3k and other heavily botted supplies would cost so much more than they actually do. Bots help the economy somehow, its been debated upon over and over.

 

I belive with the coming F2P and GE with out trading limits, this will push OldSchool into becoming more popular than RS3!

All these new updates+ Syndicate has been streaming it and other famous streamers are too. Some guy the other day was a famous CS:GO player that started streaming it. Also the OSRS mods are amazing, especially Mod Ash.

 

I think people are also botting a lot more, seems to me like ban rates aren't as high as before.

 

I hope that isn't the reason, I hate bots (yeah I know kind of weird since I'm on a black market site) mainly because I feel like it drives away new players also they are just annoying to look at.

 

Like most other people said, probably GE and perm f2p. Mix of people realizing RS3 sucks for what it is, and old players "coming back", if even for a couple days, to try it out.

Everyone has their nostalgia kicks.

 

Even I am prop going to return, i am really from the oldskool er. Loved it back then.
