I got DDoSed can I file a law suit?

I believe it's possible, seen similar situations before. As they say, you have the right to seek a lawyer right? Consult one, if you're serious.

 

Here's the thing. You have nothing on him and honestly no damage or proof of the crime being commited was provided. You have to realize that you basically are a nobody. You have no servers hosting a company that were damaged you lost no money, gold is not money and you will lose any claim saying it's worth money because it is against jagex TOS to sell or place value on it. Essentially you lost nothin and have literally nothing. This being said it is illegal and very hard to prove something like this happened as the user will obviously use a bot net he probably paid for which will never link to them.

You can post all the information you want to about how much a fine would possibly be but you are only trying to pull a scare tactic which is understandable as ddos is annoying as heck.

Solution. Contact the user sportjon here on sythe he has many tool excellent for you and your dueling situation including a Skype ip protector leaving you safe and unable to be dc'd from them resolving your skypes IP address.

Do some research and protect yourself next time. I have a person on my team who can help you for a fee but sportjon is a really good guy and knows his stuff so hit him up first

 

I agree with Rogue here. To be able to sue for damages you have to prove there were damages. Runescape gold isn't a currency and it can't be matched to real money damages. The best you could do would be to theoretically just file a criminal complaint.

 

Yeah good point there, there was no real "damage" done or harm. I mean aside from the fact the DDos did happen, not much else really. The scam was just a byproduct.

Although, I've seen similar situations with DDos attacks--however they were definitely more wide scale--and were caused due to more pragmatic reasons. But even then, I'm not a lawyer so I can't go and make random assumptions of what isn't a viable/non-viable case. But I do think that this probably wouldn't have as much basis to it.

Honestly, If you get ddosed don't bitch about it say your gonna file a lawsuit. 0 evidence is provided and doubt the packets are coming from the ddoser's ip.

If it was that easy to file a lawsuit or even get them introuble from the police then there wouldnt be over 100 sites to buy booters and stuff to do that off of. its a lost cause if you are trying to get them introuble or it will just cost you 1000-5000$ to find them, get a lawyer, ect.. just deal with it lol.

 

Lawsuits for DDosing are mainly for big companies. I honestly don't think they'll care about something small time like this.

 

P.s Hire Pen-dragonz and if you really want to scare the kid give us the skype and we will huntdown his personal info from facebook to his house address.

P.s you shouldn't be contacting them again if they do see this they will just troll you and send constant attacks. Also suggest calling you provider and have your ip changed

 

No need to hire anyone to dox the ddoser and find his address, that won't help you at all really. If you're really this concerned about it, you could contact your ISP and have them trace the packets. But lawyer fees and court fees and whatnot would cost a lot more than what you'll get for suing him. If you need advice on how not to get your IP traced and how to stay hidden, you can feel free to shoot me a Pm or add me on skype.

 

Trace the packets to what the 1000's of zombie bot net computers that were used to send the attack? Why would we ddos the hacker 2 wrongs don't make a right. Get your google knowledge update and your post count up somewhere else.

 

What are you talking about?? His ISP can work with the police or FBI, (if he wants to take it that far) and the fbi will trace the botnet packets and shutdown the slave pcs.

You really sound clueless. What are you going to do with the ddosers address? Send him a letter asking him to stop?

And PS you don't need to call your isp to change your ip lol all you have to do is type ipconfig /release in cmd

 

Because the police department (which probably doesn't have a cyber-crimes division, because those are fairly rare) and the FBI are going to go on the attack because this kid got DDoS's while runefagging.

As for tracing them that's none of your concern what we would do or how. But with the info we would give would include phone number, address, real not Vpn'd ip. Basically everything. What they did with the info is nothing we care about. But he or we would contact the indivu who is probably a minor and contact the parents or scare the living crap out of the kid by other means to slow or stop further attacks.

As you obviously are getting your post count up you may be wondering how the info would be obtained... There is another for of hacking called social engineering. You should learn up in it but your social skills are bleh so don't look to much into it.

 

You'll need solid proof that he ddosed you to actually win this case.
