Thinking about playing RS again.

Well I haven't played RS in about three years now, haven't even visited the site in almost just as long. Heard about RS3 sometime last year but it didn't really peak my interest enough to check it out. As of right now I have two accounts left, a skiller with 99 fish/wc and a level 105 I had started to make my main before I quit. Was just wondering what the current state of RS is right now compared to roughly the date I quit. Has it gotten better/worse in terms of overall gameplay experience? Also based on said current state which of these two accounts would you recommend I invest time into? Thinking about turning the skiller into a possible pure, was just wondering if it's worth it nowadays or just continue on with a main considering I don't have time for both. Thank you for your input! I look foward to hearing opinions.

You should try Runescape 2007. http://oldschool.runescape.com/

But you can play on Free to play for 2 weeks, although Jagex is going to make F2P permanent on Thursday 19th February.

 

I did look into 07 a bit. The concept is awesome, a lot of good memories from back then but starting from scratch isn't really a viable option right now considering the I don't have enough available time to invest in such an undertaking.

 

If you've got a lot of free time, go ahead. Honestly I wouldn't play it if you've already gone that long without playing. You've moved on, something a lot of people have a hard time doing. If you go back you forfeit that, but its your decision

 

sell your accounts and buy a decently already leveled oldschool account then have fun

 

Don't do this OP. Accounts are always recoverable by the original owner, and more than likely it will get recovered if you buy from someone that isn't trusted.

 

Okay, I've been playing on and off for 14 years now. Runescape has changed, alot. Some for the better and some for the worst, Runescape 3 is good. I enjoy playing it, there's still the basis there just modernised. I just started back a few days ago after quitting for a year and its been a good decision, it's an awesome game but will take some adjusting too

 

thats wat I thought when I was restarting 07. But it really wasnt that bad, esp since splashing and nmz. plus f2p is coming back out, so start out with everyone else!

 

You can play to f2p worlds as much as you want.

Also, I enjoy the RS3 feel. Revolution is amazing when you want to be lazy and the ability bars gives your own personal style to DPS as wells as faster skilling.

 

You should try legacy mode on rs3, it's what brought me back.

 

Legacy mode is great for the feeling, however you get garbage xp rates compared to EoC, If you can look passed this then it's a great option.

 

Legacy isfun for just killing time but without legacy giving exp per hit eoc will prevail exp wise....

 

i wouldnt play rs3 i would play 07rs if youre coming back

 

I'd personally play rs3 if you're coming back, as the rs07 community is going to crash once F2P is made permanent later this week, as it'll get overrun by bots. RS3 has a lot more skills, quests, training methods and is more fun IMO overall as you can change how to do combat etc for some variation. I'd also play the skiller as fishing is a PITA to train, and it means that you'd be able to make some cash quick.

 

I personally enjoy RS3 more. There will always be something to do, and once you max, you still have challenges to overcome; whereas in OSRS, you're pretty much done for good when you max--and it takes a lot more time to play OSRS. Maxing on RS3 is fun for me, and when I max, I'm sure comp. will be fun as well. But that's just me. I recommend RS3 > OSRS any day. Starting fresh on RS3 is also fun tbh. You could even look into Ironman, many players like that challenge rather than just playing a fresh account. It's still a new account, but it's a different gameplay entirely.

 

Dont go back to rs3!! it sucks!
