Even if your right (which you're not) who do you feel the need to push this boring game on sythe?

I'm contracted as a 3d and environmental artist, you can find my work in hundreds of games.

Promotion is an important aspect of marketing, I never said it wasn't. But your pushing a boring, generic game on people and practically begging to download it and give it five stars.

Not only that but you have multiple threads all over sythe about these bad games. I'm not the only one who feels this way, in-case you haven't noticed.

 

I find it hilarious that you think ideas become popular just if they're good. Your naive view on the world is heartwarming.

What games specifically? Anything I would have heard of?

I've had plenty of people tell me my game is fun and addicting and very few people tell me it is boring or generic. I'm not really begging, hell I couldn't really care less if you download it or not. I'm just posting for the people who find it cool and are looking for games to play.

All my other threads on Sythe are closed, this is the only active thread. Also all of my threads have been about a single game not multiple "games". I also honestly do not care if you don't like my posts or if other peopled don't because plenty of people do. Also here's a news flash, there are plenty of other posts to look at, you don't have to read this one.

 

Personally I think it looks novice and boring. But I'm more concerned with why you feel the need to make EIGHT THREADS and bump them constantly. Sure, some are locked now but you never needed more than one.

 

Sure you can think it looks boring, but if you don't actually download the game and see it and see how the game works then you can't really judge it. The new update (1.2) has taken into account around 10 different suggestions from people on this site.

I get that not everyone likes puzzle games... but a lot of people do. I think you should also take into account that the game is made by a self-taught programmer who is a full time student, not someone who does this for a living.

I've had the older threads locked as more things have happened with my app. I try to make it so there is only one thread at a time for this to not clog the feeds.

I took a look and in all honesty as a consumer, it just doesn't break it.

 

I'm confused by your question... This thread is meant to be for discussion on the game: how to improve it, how to maximize downloads, grow the amount of users, etc.

It's a shame you didn't take my advice into consideration. You probably had a successful app if you did. However, the people who are complaining are doing so because the amount of topics you created on this app was/is free advertising.

The advice I gave you before was to hire a professional graphics designer for it. It requires it absolutely. You need to pour a good investment into eye appealing graphics. Without it, its a boring looking game. I see the app-icon and screenshots and think "God NO! what's he doing!?" so what are your potential consumers thinking?

Get back to the drawing board and rethink your strategy completely. You absolutely need to take this advice or your app will flop. $20 is not successful. Take this from someone who is considering quitting a £60,000 a year salary for what I'm making off my apps.

 

Dude, I'm a student. I have no money to pay for a graphics designer, are you serious? I don't really care about you quitting your job to make apps, that doesn't make you an authority on anything. And my potential consumers clearly don't care about the app icon not being nice enough lol, I get around 100 downloads a day.

And I'm sorry I post too much for you guys. I make sure to not have more than one thread open at a time (I self request for my threads to be closed).

Haha thanks. How far in the game have you gotten? It's shooting for the continuity of Cut the Rope and the simplicity of Blek. It's definitely not for everyone. Plenty of people don't like it but I've had an overwhelming amount of responses from friends that it's addicting.

I find it funny that you say to make it look flashy because so many people have told me to tone it down haha.

 

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss constructive criticism. Graphics greatly improve an app's popularity. There's a bunch of games like Candy Crush, but they're the most successful largely because of their graphics. Having a few good graphics made really isn't that expensive and would likely pay for itself. If you can't afford it fine, but it was still a good idea.
