F2P returns. Old School booms?

If F2p returns, even with Jagex's 'Restrictions' I think Old school could boom again.

People in black market communities like ourselves will think nothing of having several f2p accounts, with some botting multiple a day to make cash. Hardcores could even bot multiple f2p accounts whilst they play there members account legitimately which would remove the pain of ever getting cleaned or having to gold farm (I recommend people bot f2p accounts on a client that can use proxies so if you DO get banned it won't be on your members IP).

More F2P accounts/farmers = more supplies in the circulation, lower GP prices, more accounts being made, f2p pking, f2p role playing (for those few players who love 07 but refuse to pay for members).

Not to mention with the weekly updates F2P content could actually become decent and worth legitimately playing. Imagine F2P duel arena?

All in all im excited for F2P to come out along side the GE it will make gameplay a whole lot easier. In terms of the community? I don't know, I hang around the duel arena all the time so Vally/Fally Bank don't matter to me but if they do to you comment about how they are please?

And im pretty sure they F2P won't be flooded with bots, Jagex have something up their sleeve for this update.

 

yeah i gotta agree with him, I doubt there will be doubts with the new "technlogy" they have >,> nevertheless I am happy since I don't have to pay for bonds

 

I'm not sure if "boom" is the right word (might not be -that- noticeable.) It's certainly a step in the right direction for the growth of the game.

Pretty keen for real F2P to be introduced. Bonds make things easier for everyone, half the people I know that play use bonds from RS3 so I don't see that much of a problem. Bit annoying how they polled them together, not giving the community a chance to decline them because no one wanted to say no to F2P.

Everyone will be kicking around Varrock Square and the Grand Exchange in F2P Worlds showing off their members/holiday items to the new kids again, prepare yourselves for nostalgia.

 

You'll see a growth both on oldschool and sythe. It won't be the same growth many are anticipating.

 

It's a double edged sword, there is good and there is bad... growth of RS and then I think people can take advantage of it... but I'm for the update

 

Me and a friend had a two week break from school and played/sythed for 18hours a day back in 2007. I remember how booming Sythe was and it was amazing.

 

Yes, not sure how to quantify how much, but a boom will be noticed in some way.

 

Will it be free for good? No 2 week trial and whatnot?

You associate a boom with everyone botting multiple accounts....? Lmao you really think thats going to be good for the game and get thousands of new players? No, the only reason that it is successful is if it appeals to old players that have quit again and they don't see a shit product.

 

Theres at least one legitimate account behind every botter...

 

I look forward to the potential player boost, it should help both RS3 and 07. Hopefully RS can enter a new prime.

 

Hah, for the last two weeks I had been thinking of rejoining RS07, but the requirement of membership always held me back. With the implementation of permanent F2P I think I'll take the leap and finally start playing again . I'll buy 10 to 20M to give me a headstart, though. What client should I use?

 

I saw 25k Players on Oldschool Runescape the other day, with the introduction of real F2P optimistically I'd say it's going to double pretty easily.

There are a few popular ones, OS Buddy and RuneLoader are the ones that first come to mind. Be careful of dodgy ones though mate.

 

F2P will bring a lot more players to RS, but will also cause a lot of botting. This should be a good thing as it'll make the economy crash for legitimate players, but a bad thing for goldfarmers as 1m will be harder to make. Could see a rise in sythe OSRS activity.
