On Sythe.org there are several 'businesses' who hire staff to run their daily tasks. A Common method of recruitment of these businesses is to post a thread on Sythe.org advertising for staff, and for members of Sythe.org to post an advert for themselves if they want to work for one of these businesses. That in mind, which of the following solutions do you think works best in terms of visibility, clarity, usefulness and organisation?

    Poll option 1
    Poll option 2
    Poll option 3
    Poll option 4
Please note; the above are unbiased arguments for each case in third person and are not personal opinion.

    Went for Subsection.

As stated, it wont clutter market up, nor will it use up too much of Staffs time, which is already spread thin (as #3 suggests)

I am either for option 2 and 1. I don't mind a subsection, but not sure if it will generate enough activity. Therefore option 2 is the best fit.

I voted for the revert actually. It worked for years, and I never saw any major issues. Spots were filled quicker and more efficiency with separate threads.

In my opinion number 2 is the best option because it does not clog up that section and will allow employees to find worker easier.

Well, here's my response to all 4:

    (1) This is fine, but the market discussion forum is not particularly active as is. I don't see how adding a subsection promotes any of the 4 aims; perhaps someone might see the title 'recruitment...', but they should be able to see the individual threads just as easily.

    (2) I think it's silly that you can't post adverts directly to the business you are applying for. This reduces trade as a whole, since it increases the work required to hire. Businesses must now sift through the sticky, half of the resumes probably not relevant in the first instance. It also doesn't allow individuals to be pro-active about seeking businesses out, since they have nowhere to advertise.

    (3) Worse than 2, individual businesses should be able to have their own thread. You would never have 1 big sticky of RS Gold Purchases, with the first post containing all those buying, and the replies being all those selling. Let people manage their own recruitment, it's better for competition, requires staff to do less work.

    (4) This sounds fine to be honest.

Alternatively, if you are worried about clutter (5), you can have businesses post their own threads, and people post their resumes to the businesses they wish to apply for. You can also have a separate sticky in that forum with all general resumes posted there.

This would reduce clutter, allow businesses to manage their own threads, give individuals more opportunity to advertise their services, and reduce staff workload. Business wanting to look at resumes past those posted on their threads now have a sticky to look to; they are no longer required to do it per the other suggestions.

NOTE: I voted 4, but I reckon my 5th idea would be slightly better.

Poll is unbalanced/unfair/rigged, as anyone who wants a change has their votes split in 3 where people who want to stay the same all come under a single poll option.

I'm fine with any option except one sticky where both Hiring/Applications go, back to market discussion entirely, or just the hiring threads back to market section.

    You're misunderstanding #2.

Job seekers cannot make threads, but can post their resume in the listings sticky.

Employers can make threads, and job seekers can reply in that same thread with an application form given by the employer.

It's the ultimate compromise. Job seekers don't have the merit as employers to post their individual thread. It's just going to become a bump fest of unread resumes clogging up the forum as a whole.

I don't recall seeing any employment threads a couple years ago. The reasoning for this is unknown, but one can assume it's related to the uncertainty of thread acceptance in that specific forum. The problem became evident in early 2014 where 7 or so employment threads were taking over the forum unnecessarily (you can call it the domino effect or monkey see monkey do).

1 seems like the best option all around. The threads aren't in market discussion, you don't have the unnecessary staff involvement, and it seems like the most practical way for both employers and hopefuls to see each others responses.

Although I personal voted for #4 because I don't see posts in the market section as clutter.
