Just back, thinking of quitting already....

I haven't played RS in like a year.

I got back a few days ago and decided to buy some gold today.

I struggle to find money to spend on games nowadays but I managed to get some cash together to buy 80m Rs3 GP.

I decided it would be smart to get it on a new account I made a few days ago then drop trade it over. Only.. I dropped it, swapped to main and stood for 10 minutes waiting on it.

No one else came, but the coins never showed up.

Has Jagex implemented something to prevent drop trading now?

Why must this crap always happen to me...

This has just put a serious downer on my mood and gone from "Can't wait to get back into this" to "Can I be bothered now?"

Please someone tell me why this happened?

 

New accounts that are not members have a 25,000 trade limit. This limit includes drop trading.

 

But I managed to get the 80m on the same new account.

I can receive cash, but not give it out?

 

buy a bond (6-8m) and the trade limit is lifted lol

 

Ok but I'm still £25/80m down

Still not 100% sure on how I lost it. Since I was able to accept the 80m from seller, but not drop trade it across to my main.

 

You can receive anything but cannot give out items because the inability to give stops gold farmers from creating fresh f2p accounts to bot on.

The trade limit is only for giving gold, as far as I know an account that has never been members can still receive any amount of gold.

 

I wasn't sure what the time for the drop to appear was. haven't played in a long time.

Just went to duel arena to stake what I had left and lost 5 in a row. I guess I'm missing something there too.

After you received the 80m on your new account, there was a message that popped up saying you now have a 25k trade limit. I did the same thing mate, only I caught the message. You may have overlooked it. :/

 

Moral of the story: always double-check before doing anything silly that you might regret afterwards.
Also, it maybe the money disappears after the account that dropped it logs out? 25K should have appeared on the ground if it had been the trade limit at fault.
In future, use Falador party room chest to transfer wealth off a trade-limited account. I can guarantee that it's the only sure way of getting the cash across safely and hiccup-free. Be sure to use an empty world and avoid being seen by a passer-by.

 

What I do for Runescape is I just play and afk things when i'm bored and not doing anything. If you don't find that fun then do something in the game that is fun to you.

You win some you lose some mate I had two account banned on oldschool and I played legitimately. both on verges of 99's which made me quit for a year each time respectively. I came back hopped on rs3 havent been bothered since grinded out 99 rc and learned to live with my losses. From what I remember drop trading hasnt been a thing you could do for a while your shit just disappears.

 

Should of done your research before dropping your hard earned "gp" man.
