The Aftermath of Prices. - Grand exchange - discussion

The grand exchange is definately going to have an effect on todays trade prices, its just the question of what will go up what will go down?
I want to hear your opinion on what will go up and down, and why you think they will rise/fall.

I personally think everything that is used to increase ones skill that can be sold on afterwards will rise. Such as Raw food, logs.

Also items that are used frequently by pvp'ers may increase.

What do you think?

 

I can't tell yet but i am going to sell up all my items before the release, then use that cash stack to flip items, i did this back in the day made alot.

 

Id say bandos / dfs / sgs will be going up if not stable, i believe so because of the amount of people that use it for slayer etc

 

I also think that gatherables such as logs, food, herbs etc are all going to go up.

 

Why would they go up? Care to explain?

 

tons of flippers - price increase.

Over time the prices will drop again I'm sure.

 

A lot of gathering supplies will crash. Some will maintain their price overtime, while raw materials will rise, making production skills unprofitable.

 

I think prices on alot of items will be unstable for a little while until the GE figures itself out. Either way, the coming of the GE is going to bring back the old era of merchanting clans with them buying loads of items as the price goes up and dumping them on the GE and the price goes down. I would describe it to be kind of like a vacuum, it will suck it a lot of air but then with the push of a button it will blow out with force

I feel like most prices will drop, so I just cashed in everything.

 

i just hope i can take advantage and make some money and come out a gangsta flipper. than i don't care what happens to the prices :~)

 

I mean....theres nothing going into the economy and nothing coming out. I mean..yes..people will insta buy things and insta sell things...but I feel like that would balance things out. Same with flipping.....flippers have to sell their items too....so i dont see why that would justify the items all rising so much

Obviously there may be a small crash with some items that people find annoying to sell....but i mean...if it were substantial wouldnt peole sell it regardless?

i would imagine recourse items would drop because they are easier traded now and faster obtainable so there will be tons

 

On the release, it's inevitable that items that were never intended on being in the market will be dumped at the lowest price possible. Why? Everyone wants to clear their bank space, want to get rid of items that they don't want to spend time selling, and then there is convenience. You're substituting ease of access with appropriate item values. Merch clans cannot be controlled, and that is the biggest issue of all.

 

Logs/fish/ore etc will crash(easier to get via G.E from people)

Pking gear, slay drops, higher tier items will all rise.

 

Right, i get that. But people like above are saying that common items will rise?

Bus can you explain why higher tier items like slayer stuff will rise? I mean people can insta sell that stuff too.

 

The way I put it is, I currently have small amounts of a lot of different consumables that is not worth my time selling.

Now with the GE I can sell them all instantly and I can sell items even if I don't stack up a significant stock.

I am sure there are many players in the same situation as me.

 

Yeah thats true, but is that amount so big that it will permanently lower consumable prices?

Also what about higher tier gear? That one I really don't get why people are saying it'll go up
