I dont generally order old fashioneds at bars. 99% of people get it wrong or put too much bitters in it.

My ideal old fashioned is with 3 fingers old crow (lends itself to old fashioneds and other mixed drinks very well) half a spoon of sugar and two shakes of angostura bitters. Add about .5 oz of water or Sprite and youre in the money.

Theres a million and one variations of the drink, but thats mine. I always thought "aerating" your liquor (letting it sit in open air a little while) was bullshit but it really does bring out other flavors and knock off some of that bite.

I suggest giving it a go to any whiskey sipper.

Also fuck scotch. Never got into that.

I've never had scotch, but I enjoy a good gin and tonic. I also love Jameson.

been interested in japanese beers lately. especially like asahi super dry. i like sapporo as well, but none of my local liquor stores stock much more than that. what's the rules on importing?

also, if yall want a cool way to get a lil goosed, buy a camelbak (the one I had held 2L of liquid, I believe you can buy a bigger one though(google it if you have no fuckin clue what a camelbak is), buy a can of frozen orange juice, a can of gatorade power (I recommend fruit punch personally), and a bottle of vodka. get a pot, fill it with 3 parts vodka, 1 part water (you can obviously change this depending on how strong you want it), heat the water up (not to boiling, but at least to the point where its too hot to dip your fingers in), then dump the frozen orange juice log in there and mix it (ideally probably only use half of the log, save the other for later since it's much more than you need), and then dump a fair amount of gatorade powerder in there. mix well, put it through some type of sieve (not totally required, but will help your camelbak not get filled with gunk). stick that shit in your fridge for a few hours to cool, once cool toss it into your camelbak and you've got one fucking highly alcoholic beverage that tastes like orange fruit punch that you can drink all night by just sucking on a small tubular straw.

the best part is, girls always ask what's in your camelbak, and then they usually ask for a sip, then you get nice and close to em while they suck your camelbak. then, if they get real slutty with it, you know she's lookin for the pipe, and you can also tell if they get real toothy with it or not. plus she'll get fucked up off of your 45 proof fruit juice

the real only downside is washing the camelbak the night day. you gotta make sure to wash it GOOD otherwise mold will develop and it'll be just downright disgusting

Just so long as you don't smash it down when you try it, haha. I had a single shot of Laphroaig's on my birthday when I went to a mate's gig and it actually made my night because it fit so well with the atmosphere of the place I was at, and left this really nice smoky aftertaste that lingered for quite a while.

I nearly gave the poor bartender a heart attack actually. He asked if I wanted it with ice and I said "on its own" but through the noise he thought he heard "with coke". The look on his face was priceless.

Not really a beer type of man myself, alot of rot guts around here enjoy pabst due to cheap price and widespread availability.

I know its low quality but this is the cards I've been dealt tonight. Cranberry juice mix, and presto. Something you can sip on and really enjoy.

Its not pricey by any means. Mixes great with any juice or sprite. Should get you where you need to go. Not many people have experience with gin but I consider it fun lol.

Recently bought a handle of soco for the first time in a few years, at first was declicious. About 3/4 through the bottle and its too sweet again. Guess I got burnt out on it, got a bottle of George Dickel last night; my favorite Tennesse whiskey.

I don't often get that with whiskey, but I get it ALL THE TIME with rum. There are times where I'll find a really great spiced rum for example, and it'll be really smooth and the spices aren't overpowering, then I'll have it the next week and it'll taste so sweet I want to puke.

I've always been more of a fan of Scotch than American whiskey. I always found it to be a bit more refined, smoother etc.

    Jamesons aw ye

I've got a 12 year old bottle of Distillery Reserve and even that only cost me 50 euros. (has your name printed on the bottle).

    Jamesons is da bomb.

I'm sad and I like Sailor Jerry, Guinness and quite alot of real ale. If you asked me for my favourite ale i'd have to go with Skinners' Cornish Knocker or one I had at a festival called "Proper 'Ansum". Fucking cornish people.
