Hi i have a question for the community Where do bargain shops like 99p shops, poundland or even corner shops buy there stock from? They obviously make a decent profit too after staff/upkeep being paid. So what im wondering is where do they get stock soo cheap from? Sorry if i posted this in the wrong part of the forums i dont know where else it would go.
They probably sell food that is about to expire or stocks from bankrupt companies that just need to get rid of their stock for anything. That is just a guess I can't tell for sure.
Thanks for the reply but i dont think thats it, the stock they have definately isn't even close to expiry and shops like Poundland,Poundworld and 99p shops they have hundreds of chains across the country/world so they cannot be buying from bankrupt companies as that wouldnt carry on too long for them and they are multimillion pound franchises.
Did a quick google search to confirm what I was thinking. They just buy cheap items in bulk, and sell in bulk. Making a thin margin but they have volume on their side so they make a lot of profit regardless.
Rofl yeah Poundland is a big franchise in the UK. I'm sure there are similar in the US like dollar world or whatnot
There are people who's only jobs is to go to auctions and places that are going out of business and buy out their stock. Also some of their stuff is made for them in China.
Lets go to the UK so I can take you to poundland . Only thing better would be poundtown. Also OP, look into alibaba . Its a made in china wholesale distributer that sells EVERYTHING cheap. Generally gotta make big orders though.
They ship world wide, I don't know if they take paypal, you have to order bulk to get a deal - and by bulk I am talking about $500+ worth of product generally. Also, yes they're legit. They're like the chinese overstock.com.
Dont take my word on it, but i think they buy it in bulk and get it cheaper, therefore making a small profit when re-selling to major retailers if there are any.
Dont know if they take PP but yeah they are legit. A friend of mine buys phone cases and knives and shit and resells it at flea markets. Guy makes his living that way!
They are real life merchers. Buy bulk sell for a profit, small one individually but it all adds up. The Bes thing in pound land at the 15 Kodak AA batteries for one pound they don't last long but its amazing value imo.
