    Beware of Recent Phishing Attempts

I've gotten a skype message from a fake impostor of a large gold seller. I played along with just chatting with them, never made any deals or contact outside of skype. They've been trying very hard to become friendly and act professional for over a week.

Also, they might ask you to just visit their runescape forum (maybe gold site) and post on their thread. They will tell you they're from some other country and that's why the site has a .eu or .en- which is true if you are from there, but not for this scam attempt. It links you to a legit looking runescape forum login page, and when you log in you are redirected to the actual forums- don't be fooled.

Obviously this kind of stuff is common sense if you are aware of what's going on, but for the noobie- be careful lil' man.

Something that does nothing in the long term but must be a great feeling of personal satisfaction.

I once suffered from this phishing scam when I was younger and in a stage of obscene nescience, I believed in people and ultimately it became my downfall on RS on a lot of occasions.

My advice is just to ignore everything , everything where it relies on your trust, posting on links or where it seems to good to be true (because unfortunately it will be).

Remember to always be wary and be careful :p :p

It's not just fooling around with them or us staying away. A LOT of people, including adults, fall for these. A reminder to others (family, friends, etc) is never unappreciated.

Before you login, always look in your browser and check the URL. That one second will stop you from loosing your information.

You're in trouble even if you do this mate. When you login with some random username-password and you think you fooled him, he gets your IP along with your login info and he can use your IP to do numerous things like DDoS?

So just IGNORE these phishing links.
