Final Fantasy Thread!

I'm personally glued to the tactics series and I'm doing my second run through Final Fantasy Tactics A2, first time on hard mode though!

I really do recommend getting the tactics series even through ROMs online. So fun.

 

Please tell me you played the original FFT on the PSX and not just the GBA spinoffs. The actual original FFT is one of the best games of all time.

 

I have not played the original one only heard it referenced quite a bit when comparing to the GBA.

I wasn't into those kinds of games when I had PSX

 

Play it, it's eons ahead of the handheld versions. So, so good.

I can't even imagine the differences now.

I consider 9 to be the best in the series it had a decently compelling story line and just had a sense of adventure about it that Ive only met in few games =3

 

I don't think I've played any of the numbered games past 7 except 13

 

Final Fantasy 7 is the best.

Best story, best characters, best soundtrack, materia system is dope. FF 7 my favorite game of all time.

 

That's why I stopped at 7. I was so satisfied with the story and characters. Although I did play crisis core as well because I loved that particular point in time in that Universe.

Also Advent Children was a good movie for the same reason! Super biased..

 

9 and 10 are both masterpieces. If you're a fan of the series at all you need to play them. I thought 8 sucked.

 

I'm always up for new RPG playthroughs so I will most likely seek out 9/10 after I finish this hard play through of tactics A2!

 

I'm excited to play it on xbox one

 

Something I should've done before selling my XB1 would be to try out an RPG on it.

I only tried CoD Ghosts and AC on it.

 

Yeah I agree. 9 is the GOAT. The protagonist being the first break from the typical mould was refreshing, the characters and their development throughout the plot was amazing - particularly Vivi having to come to terms with the idea of impending & unavoidable death (not to mention he is the coolest black mage ever), the world returning to a more fantasy and steampunk theme in contrast to the sci-fi worlds of 7 & 8 and the ultimate gameplay mechanics where characters have distinct roles with their own strengths, weaknesses and abilities.
