I honestly was going to make a thread on this. It's VERY annoying clicking on a thread and seeing someone's 500 foot profile taking up 30% of the page. This is just my opinion at least.

 

Would it not be easier to make the length per bar of miniranks longer, to fit more on for those who need it?

E: Either that, or limiting the amount of miniranks you can show, like what is done with ranks/fun ranks.

 

Agreed, it does become annoying. Maybe the user can select only a limited number of mini ranks to show at one time, at the same time being able to change them at any given time. Alternatively, the miniranks could be moved to signature space.

 

They could make a limit on how many miniranks you can have at a time or decrease the size of the miniranks? I think either would be a viable option.

 

yea anything that has lesser height:

• Display a limited amount of miniranks (user-defined)
• Push the icons tight together and build a hover feature which allows you to view the minirank (as in [[[[[]]]]])
• Display only the first 10 in true format, and the rest in a smaller format
• 'Expand' button or feature
• Wider area of miniranks, although i personally dislike this idea. It seems like itll become very clogged with 30+ icons

That would interfere with mobile since the range of view is small.

 

Would love to see a limitation for how many can be displayed at once. Anything other than the 2FA, Sythe awards & Bond holder mini-ranks are pointless so they're just clogging up the page. I'd imagine this is 100x worse when browsing on the mobile site too.

 

The limit to miniranks should be 2 lines so it doesnt fuck mobile users and or take up half the fucking page.

Limit them to 1 line for normal users and 2 lines for donors with an option to expand them to show all for those that wish to see all. This is retarded.

 

Matthew already addressed this issue.

Atm there is some sort of glitch that when you go over your max limit of visible miniranks depending on your donor level you are still able to see them. If a user trades you miniranks (when you buy/sell minitanks) or when you get automated miniranks added (positing in different section of the fourms) they all show up.

Also whats the point of miniranks if you can only have like 5-10 visible.
If you think about it every year more miniranks are added, and if you cant show them off there's really no point in miniranks?

 

You blatantly exploited the glitch by adding 14 miniranks over the limit, none of which are participant related. I don't think you realize the effect your post bit has on mobile users, eg: extended loading times for threads you post in. This could easily be fixed by removing some in minirank manager.

 

I didn't exploit it, I've pmed Matthew about it and possibly Roary, it just didn't get fixed yet. I check sythe daily on my mobile while im at work and its fine for me, even with the miniranks.

Ghast no need to rage on me or other users who have alot of miniranks.
ps: My limit is 30 miniranks, and i didn't add 24 miniranks over the limit.

Once Matthew fixed the glitch everything will be fine.

You did exploit it, you still have 14 miniranks above the proposed "limit". If you cared about the exploit, you would abide the limit and keep your count at 30. This means removing miniranks from view in your minirank manager. No one is raging at you. Just because everything is good on your end, doesn't mean it's good for everyone else.

 

The other issue is that hidden miniranks still take up dead space. Even when you remove some ^ it's still ugly as hell.

 

Need further minirank limits to avoid this kind of thing. Agreed with OP.

 

They arent pokemon cards, you dont gotta have em all. You damn sure dont need to show every fucking one ever. (Nor ask an arm and a leg for the ones you have)

Nice job abusing this glitch for your own benefit. Fucks the mobile users (including myself) big time. You were against the last minirank downsize and "found" (probably looked for) a glitch around it.

You should be hammered for knowingly abusing site mechanics.

So even if you try hiding the miniraks there is still dead space, so it doesn't matter if you see a minirank or you see dead space.
