I think Shia likes it when people talk shit about him lol, and this girl is 12 years old what the fuck this is some next level shit.

 

I can see how it could be interpreted as mildly sexual. But there isn't anything inherently inappropriate about it.

None of it was strange aside from the last bit. Still, Sia's music videos make it breathtakingly hard to draw your eyes away from the screen, so it does make watching it that much weirder. Nevertheless, not too irking imo.

 

Dam... The comments ruined me looking at this objectively. I looked down and saw the following comment and it is the only way I can interpret the video.

 

FFs, people are idiots. There's literally nothing wrong with it. It's a music video, not some creepy, personal home video.

The way it was described in the Title I expected something along the lines of R Kelly and the 15 year old..."No Shia...please..."

I personally love Shia ever since i grew up watching Even Stevens.

I don't understand why he get's bashed by many.

 

The music video doesn't seem any weirder than Sia's chandelier clip.

 

If it was a boy in place of Shia LeBeouf, the public would consider it child porn. These days, the music videos have nothing to do with the actual song, it's for grabbing the attention of the public, in which they've succeeded here. The music video is obviously inappropriate, and they knew that when practicing/filming the choreography with a girl of her age. I wouldn't be surprised if someone called this art. I could poop, take my poop, throw it on a canvas, and call it art. All in all, the music video is very disturbing.

In the court of public opinion, anything you do that is out of the ordinary will receive criticism. Sia knows this, and knew she would end up apologizing for this.

 

I wouldn't class that video clip as inappropriate? Half the time it looks like she's belting him, and the only time he ever touches her is when he pokes her when she's on the ground. All in all, the video clip is weird, but contempuary dancing is weird to most of the general public.

 

It's definitely inappropriate. Would you consider this suitable for a 12 year old girl? If you do, you're weird. Also, if it wasn't inappropriate, she wouldn't be apologizing.

I'll lay out what I saw.

Two people in spandex, one is an adult, the other is a 12 year old girl in a cage alone. The opening scene looks like a bdsm porn scene. They crawl to each other looking to engage in something. They eye each other for most of the video with a look of lustful interest.

The director of the music video knew this was inappropriate, and that's why they went with this. It attracts attention of the public. Just like the "Only" lyric video by Nicki Minaj that was represented as something similar to that of the holocaust. Inappropriate, weird and sexual sells these days.

 

You are begging the question that the video is sexual. Everyone very much wants to look for eroticism in the video because society generally assumes that people who are young and/or female are able to be sexually exploited, but on the first watch, I could not tell that there was any indication of that in the content itself.

 

I don't believe they want to see erotic content in the video, otherwise complaining would be hypocritical. Maybe it's the other way around. Nowadays many music videos are not about the music itself. Most content you see within music videos contain sexual objectifying, gore, satanism, illuminati puppetry, and random obscene imagery tromping throughout the video. Why is this in modern music videos? Because it draws attention to the record.

It's erotic in the views of the public majority. If it wasn't, she would not apologize. There is no proper or incorrect way of interpreting the music video, but when a large majority of people feel a negative vibe from something, it usually brings up the question, "Is this appropriate?", in which case it isn't. I'm sure the director of the music video was well aware of this.

I myself do not care about music videos because I know it usually has nothing to do with the music, and it's blatant attention whoring. Like in Animals by Maroon 5, a random scene of the lead singer and a girl kissing under what seems to be a waterfall of blood, and it gets pretty obscene afterwards.

 

I liked even stevens too, but shia is an egotistical little bitch. Look into his "fights" the past few years. Long story short he starts a lot of shit and gets beat up a lot.

 

When people stare at each other for about 30 seconds straight while you stare from your screen, it does get weird at that point. Regardless, the rest of the video was fine lol, didn't see anything sexual in it at all.
I'm not quite up to date about Shia and his life nor the girl in the music video. So I haven't exactly seen anything egotistical about him.

 

Off topic a little but do you know Shia claimed he was raped by a female?

The video is a little weird and strange but I wouldn't classify it as inappropriate. I don't have a problem with it, but like all it art it comes down to interpretation.
