    Root Access (Android)

Anyone familiar with gaining root access to android tablets? The main reason that I need root access is to create a Nandroid backup (complete image of tablet OS and files)--as well as to expand my internal storage. This would be done by creating another partition on a Micro SD card and linking the two memory storages using the Link2SD app on google play. Both require root access.

Been trying some things but hasn't really worked out. It could be that the tablet I'm trying to root is not as compatible with root software. It's a cheap foreign tablet that I got just for basic use--aside from the iPad that I have as well.

You need to "root" the tablet which is like jailbreaking it. Rooting varies by models and how to do it, so just google how to root for your specific model. If it has an unlocked bootloader it should be easily rootable.

Yeah, I'll do more research--some of the things I first found and tried didn't really work out. I'll look into more specifics for the model and tablet type. Also, just curious, but regarding "bricking" your device--the chance for that to happen is low right?

Yea should be fine unless your tablet runs out of battery when rooting or something like that but there is always a chance but pretty low.

Alright thanks for info. Did some more research and found a working method. The tablet's model and type is not as well known I suppose--so it took a bit of digging around to find a working method lol xD

Thanks for the advice man! Got it up and running, just checked with root checker on the app store.
