IDLING Steam hours

Hey people,

I'm not selling or purchasing anything but I've a question. ^_^

A few months ago I bought a 5 Digit account on this site.
Since then I started idling Steamhours for that account.

Alot of times when I started idling the first idled hours counted as gameplayed hours. But in longer idle sessions sometimes the hours stopped counting half the way as gameplayed hours. At the moment the 5 digit account has like +/- 1000 gameplayed hours. I think I've wasted like 1400 hours of idling to get these 1000 hours.

When I Idle hours with my main account I dont have this problem?

Does anyone know a reason or solution?

Can also depend on the method you use to idle your hours.

 

I've heard it might have some affect if it's a Email username instead of regular username. That might be the problem, it's at Steam end not yours.

 

what is the point of idling on steam, do you get something for doing it? Steam noob reporting in.

 

You'll get reported less. When someone does very well in a game, they check your hours to see if you're hacking/smurfing, as those accounts always have low hours.

 

I've had a problem with idling on a smurf account using S.A.M and it sometimes stops idling hours, or it inaccurately idles the hours. The only fix I've find for it, is to actually install the game, open it, and then sit there and idle it that way.

 

Steam has a limit, so you will need a program that can restart the game sometimes. SAM is not the ideal idle program.

 

People who Idle games to increase the value of an account will use a VPS to idle multiple accounts at one time with a program which restarts the game every 3 hours or so. I have a friend who has around 35 accounts idling at one time and he can turn $10 accounts into $40 within a couple of weeks.

 

Not all people idle accounts to sell them, or to increase value.

Usually scrubs doing it for CS:GO have shit to hide so they'll increase the hours played on their account to may them look some what legit.

I honestly don't see the point in it, but each to their own.
