banned for a trade that never happend

so i just got banned for "scamming 100m" apparently, yet there is no sufficient proof to confirm i scammed someone(which i didn't do) the conclusion was that he recieved 100m from someone? dosent prove a thing in my eyes, and im being framed because the skype log talks to his advantage, yet there is no ACTUAL proof.

In the meantime I'm going to let another moderator that hasn't already given a second opinion on this give their 2 cents on the case.

At the end of the day, it's a judgment call by staff. All of the judgment so far has not been ruled in your favor. The Skype logs definitely seem to indicate to those that have viewed it to be that you DID receive the GP.

The rest of the scam report in terms of accuracy checked out completely.

There seems to be the end of the conversation missing. And if I'm honest, it looks as though the other member may be at fault here - usually a "thanks" or "confirmed" seals the deal for me but I don't see that this time around.

 

That last part of the convo has been requested as of yesterday, btw. Waiting back on that.

Also not saying M4 did this, but usually purposely not saying thanks or confirmed can be a means towards future plausible deniability.

To me, if he never received the GP, he would have reacted as such in chat after being asked yet again for the account details (if it was agreed upon that the user was going first to M4). His reasoning for this nonchalance was sort of revealed in a PM to me - confirming the deal was supposed to happen but saying that he "knew he was getting scammed and played along" - this seems flimsy to me and the Skype conversation does not indicate it. Conveniently too there was no documentation to support this belief. Though nor was there any documentation by the allegedly scammed victim showing the trade. Poor trading habits all around were executed here...leaving it to our judgment. An unenviable, precarious one at that.

The way the conversation naturally flows to me suggested he received the gold. Just my opinion. Interested to see the rest of the convo.

Also- when I said the rest of the scam report checked out - him buying 100M from Sebas was confirmed, him being visibly angry in chat post-trade was confirmed. Though again, it still does not directly implicate M4 in taking the gold. Open to more staff opinion on this.

 

Aye, but that's why we require in-game pictures. If you don't have them it's kind of tough luck. It's not uncommon, in my own experience, to confirm your in-game name and so on then there is pause to make sure everything is fine. Just my 0.02, use your best judgement

I guess we shall see what the rest of the conversation contained, see if the user accusing M4 was hiding anything.

We can proceed from there - also any more staff input on this would be greatly appreciated. I know that off-site a lot of discussion has been put into this case, but putting it here for the general public & all parties involved to see would be prudent.

Based on the evidence being purely circumstantial and M4 being a long-standing member of the community, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. There is nothing concrete proving he scammed.

My instincts are honestly conflicted, but I would support an unban if other staff members see it fit.

M4 has been respectful during the process and I admit his ban may have been a bit rash and too speedy. He does seem like a good guy and I'm not so sure he'd throw 5 years on Sythe away for 100M 07.

M4, please trade more cautiously in the future. Another benefit of the doubt scam report likely won't end in your favor. Please be careful.
