Rsgp in 2005

Can anyone tell me roughly how much gp was per mil back in 2005. Just wanting to know out of curiosity.

 

That's a good question, I'm really tempted to say like 5 dollars a mil but I could be off. It was expensive as hell.

I started playing in 03, and I remember gold being $7/m

 

2005 prices were around $6,5/m.

 

Sellerman would definitely know tbh. 6.5 definitely sounds about right, I know I wasn't introduced to the blackmarket scene until 2006 or 2007 - and it was always hovering around 5 dollars give or take 50 cents or so.

Man, this brings back memories. 1m for 5 bucks. I guess when you apply it proportionately to the actual prices of items such as partyhats at the time, it's not too much more money - but it's definitely more profit back at the time than it is now. Very cool to think about. Also sad to think about all the opportunities at rl money I had .

 

I remember paying £3/m from gold sites in the past - Wouldn't surprise me if it was around 05/06. It was also when £3 = $6 so anywhere around the figures mentioned above won't be too far out.

Thanks guys because I had a friend start in 05 (I started 04) and by half way trough the year he had all party hats and d chain (when it was around 25m+) just trying to piece together how much he would've spent since i'm assuming it wasn't made legit haha

 

Having party hats and D Chain back in 05? I'm guessing he must have sold them when they were already on the rise and he would surely be regretting his decision till date

Me too pretty much, I didn't get my first partyhats til either late 2006 or 2007. I was decently rich in 2005 though, had full dragon and such. I was always pretty good at getting GP fast.

@Liam - He easily would have had to spent THOUSANDS. Partyhats were still expensive AF (the cheapest being like 3x a D Chain)...so they weren't easy to get. Damn If I had known about Abyss Rcing in 2005 though??? I'd probably have been able to get 2-3 phat sets alone off of that.

Yeah, just thought the discussion was interesting. I'll lock it after this post. I did it legit - both collecting dragon bones and large scale merchanting - and then getting 99 rc in 07 08ish. That's how I got all my Partyhats (still have em today woohoo).

But yeah, you're right. We've answered this question. Though reminiscing on the times was nice.
