    Suggestions please.

I've honestly never bought a gaming mouse, so I don't even know what to look for.

I don't care so much how the headset looks either, as long as it performs good.

I don't want to go all out and spend several hundred dollars, so feel free to throw a wide variety of things at me.

In-store purchases would be ideal, but more than likely I'll buy off line, since I don't have a very good selection of stores where I live.

    Thanks!

Personal opinion on gaming mice: The Logitech G500. Weighted, 10-button, comfortable to hold (at least for me).

The runner up to the G500 is an off-brand Cyber Snipa Silencer. Again customizable weight, EXTREMELY comfortable with two different side (pinky/ring finger) rests.

The Razer Deathadder feels cheap to the touch, isn't weighted.

TTeSports Level 10M is clunky to hold. Highly irregular design although you can customize it's length and height.

As much as I would like to try other mice, I haven't had a chance to do so.

As per headsets: I personally suggest headphones and AKG K701s at that. The headset recommendation (although I have not heard it myself) would be the Astro A50s/A40s or Siberia V2 (USB Editions)

Depends on what you want to use it for... I personally suggest a razor mouse like the Naga. I myself am using the Naga and it's just beautiful, comfortable and does its job, has a max of 7800dpi I think. Really good and sort of cheap mouse. If your into more sensitive mouse's with higher dpi things like the madcat mouse's are for you e.g R.A.T 7

    Thanks. What is "dpi"?

I'm using it for gaming, and I'm currently using a 37" TV as a monitor. The mouse I'm using, is like a $15 Logitech, not meant for gaming, and it just seems like it doesn't quite move over the screen like it should.

I used to use it to play RSPS' in the past, but that's about it. Playing DayZ now, it just seems like it's about to die.

It depends on what games you are playing. MMORPGs/MOBA you -probably- want a mouse with more buttons. FPS a 10-button mouse like the G500 is fine. You really don't need a DPI above 3000 (anyone that thinks you do is kidding themselves or just using it for e-Peen rights).

DPI = Dots Per Inch (how many dots it reads per inch - the more it reads the less space you have to move your mouse from one side of the screen to the other). The more important factor is polling rate - or how fast the mouse sends and receives the information.

You also probably want a mouse with customizable weight to it so you can make it to where it's comfortable for you. Laser is preferable over optical for different reasons. Here is a full discussion on laser vs optical: http://www.engineersgarage.com/contribution/difference-between-optical-mouse-and-laser-mouse Covers just about everything I would discuss.

This. I play League a lot and my DPI settings on my rat 5 gaming mouse is 2750, really not much more needed than that. The RAT series mice are really good, customisable weight, precision aim etc, but if your looking for lots of buttons its not the right mouse for you.

10 button mouse isn't a must but it does help. I'm pretty sure when I had my PC the naga was fine.

Currently using a G502 Logitech Gaming mouse for league and it's really great. I find it comfortable and the scrolling is nice.

As for keyboard, I'm using a Blackwidow Ultimate 2013. It's nice and everything but extremely loud (Cherry MX Blues).

Explain what the extra buttons can be used for? I see some nice with tons. Can they be used like a hot key or something? I'm kinda afraid of all of those buttons.

You can bind select keys to them. So for LoL you would bind your QWER keys + your two spells (heal/flash/etc.) - I haven't played in forever so don't bash on me if I'm misnaming stuff. lol That way it's all on the mouse and it leaves your other hand for camera roaming/micro managing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

For MMORPGs it gets a little more detailed. You can do the same thing in which you bind a -single- key to the buttons, OR you can bind macros: a set of key strokes. So say if you wanted to run a combination like heal, attack1, attack2, attack3, combo attack... you could run that by pressing one button on your mouse: Be careful with this though as some companies don't like you using macros and will catch on/ban. If you're playing an MMORPG make sure macroing isn't against the rules in that RPG. :)

For the mouse, important question that no one here has asked - What type of grip do you use for your mouse? Palm, Claw, Hybrid, or other?

The comfort of the mouse you buy will depend heavily on the shape of the mouse paired with your grip type.

Edit: And just to comment on your "monitor" -- TV's are not meant to be used for PC gaming monitors. They just can't keep up. Experience will always fall behind an actual monitor when it comes to gaming. I'd recommend gaming on an actual monitor, and utilizing the TV for other stuff.

I personally use Razer DeathAdder 2013 and it suites my needs. You should go with a mouse which actually pans out properly on you.

I prefer Steelseries headsets because they're durable and the mic quality is really good.

Look for something that is going to suit your needs, buying the right mouse for your work/gaming is crucial.

I would just get a nice Logitech mouse or something that has a good DPI.

HIGHLY recommend the Logitech g700s gaming mouse. Simply the most versatile mouse I've ever used. Customizable profiles that are switchable on the fly, each profile containing five presets for different levels of sensitivity and so forth. It can also be used wirelessly or wired for better latency. You can adjust button presets, polling rates, dpi, everything. I'll never use anything else again.
