When does Jagex IP ban you?

I've seen goldfarmers talk about using VPNs to prevent ip bans, but what about people like me, who usually run 2-3 bots a time? Am I at risk? Do I get IP banned after a certain amount of bans or...?

 

I'm pretty sure almost never, the exception being serial gold sellers.

 

Oh? Then why do goldfarmers use VPNs? Would I be safe botting maybe four accounts at a time? My brother works very hard on his account, and is almost to his first 99, and I don't want him to get banned because of my actions. (He uses a different computer but same internet) I just want to bot for gold to sell.

 

I just had 4 accounts banned today after running them on WC last night. I'm scared to play on my main right now too lol.

 

You'd have to be a major gold seller/farmer to be permanently IP banned.

However, you can get your IP flagged.

 

You are never able to tell if Jagex has flagged your IP. I recommend just change your IP frequently to prevent any bans.

You can change your IP using programs like VPNs or using proxies.

 

Some IPs can be changed by unplugging your router then plugging it back in.

 

True. I used to do that on private servers for votes.

 

Mine does, but it only changes slightly. Is that enough for a "fresh IP" ?

I believe you get flagged and you must be gold farming for an IP ban
