Hello, I'm having a few issues in which I can't seem to pinpoint the cause. Just helps to have some other eyes looking, so that's why I'm here. Most of these are recent, within a few weeks. Can't download extensions onto Chrome. Can't watch streaming videos. This one is the worst, everything lags. It's buffered, but the things are still lagging. I have no idea what could be causing this. From Yt/twitch/anime/pr0n online it's all the same and it's quite bothersome. I've searched for flash player updates (Keeps crashing) but I can't seem to find it on my system. Virus scans are clean, and I use ccleaner regularly.
I haven't tested, will get back to you on this, though I haven't noticed it since I updated another driver. I was even having local issues (Saved movies) which led me to that conclusion.
Chrome uses it's own version of flash so if it's an issue that's only occurring within chrome using a different browser would solve the issue. If it occurs within other browsers that's a different issue altogether. Try it out on Mozilla or IE and let us know.
It works completely fine on IE, but IE is slowing my pc altogether, well because IE. Tested with yt and twitch, both are fine on IE and shit on chrome.
I'd suggest completely uninstalling chrome then, run ccleaner to remove any remnant files/registry entries, and then reinstall from a fresh download.
Uninstalled, reinstalled. Now lags on both IE and chrome. Video lags, sound is flawless. Chrome started right where I'd left of... like I didn't even uninstall. Did i need to delete something else manually?
I know you don't want to hear this but some people recommend reinstalling your os every 6 months. you'll be surprised how many issues this can resolve. I recently built a new machine and was taken aback by how fast my hdd was. I had an old hdd with same specs as new one but old was loud and slow. I never knew hdds could degrade over time. I had a windows install for 3years. also go to speedtest.net and check your dlspeeds and ping. comcast was throttling me yesterday and I had 400 ping with 1mbp/s dl speeds. also try reinstalling gpu drivers and try firefox
Someone was telling me I should reinstall OS and reformat my drive or...something. My PC used to be super fast but it's going to shit now. I've been thinking about doing it but I'm not sure what I'll lose, and mostly I cbf
You could invest in an external hard drive (500GB/1TG) for the purpose of backups, and do a format. Personally, I prefer to format every 6-9 months at the most. Keeps my PC running smoothly, and avoids any issues. This may not work for you, but this is my rule of thumb. Might be worth a shot.
I have a 3TB external. I don't really care about losing data other than what's already backed up on there, i just don't really know how to do it. As far as how long it's been, I built this when Skyrim released.
