I mean the community still seems splintered between Old School and the main game.

As far as the communities in the games themselves...still pretty single player feeling in RS3 for the most part.

2015 doesn't really sound all that exciting. If you weren't wowed by the Elf City update or the new quests, or legacy mode... I don't really see any point in playing in 2015.

RS2007 pking still has pures and high level chars. Worth checking out. Uses a new Target system to encourage fights.

Hard to say but I'm having fairly positive view as Jagex has finally started listening to their players rather than making decisions of their own which players usually disliked. There have been quite a bunch of good uptades already and I'm expecting 2015 to bring loads of new content to the game.

Yeah, it may be worth checking out if it has new updates, but I'd say it wouldn't be enjoyable unless you're fine with EoC, Legacy, and so on.

If I were to play RS again, I'd stick to OSRS. :p

It's absolutely packed when you go to a bounty world. Also, you'll always find a fight since you are given a target. Also there are PVP worlds where you can fight people anywhere, not just in the wilderness. PKing is awesome on 07, try it out. Like I said, only took me a few days to make a killer pure.

If you're starting up again after a break, OSRS > RS3 is honestly the way to go. RS3 is a maxing, constantly updated game (although the updates are absolute shit, Jagex should fix broken things instead of implementing new shit). OSRS is for fun and once you "beat" it, you're done, which is really appealing and quite nice imo.

Runescape of 2014 is a very different game than people are used to. If ur not willing to give new things a chance you will most likely just hate it. But tbh theres alot of things you can fimd your self doing at any moment and find ur self actually enjoying it. In my opinion the split with 07 and eoc is lessening as more and more 07 players are finally trying out eoc! Vice versa is also true. I havent played in a couple months but what keeps me in to the game really is just making money and pvping tbh haha. I cant think of what they could do in 2015 to get me interested as i dont care for the "lore" theyve brought for 2014. But all in all i think the game is still worth getting into if you have the time. Jagex also released legacy mode which ill admit isnt exactly like pre eoc but for beginners its a great way to progress into being into rs3.
P.s sorry that this is really written badly, on my phone and dont have the time to make it perfect lol :d

Pretty obvious the way Runescape is gonna go. Even more downhill.

They crushed that game after bringing the EOC out. Then they realised their errors and attempted to bring out 07, which slightly rejuvenated their profits and player count, but then players realised Runescape just isn't the same.

No matter how many skills they bring out, it will never be the same...

    RIP Runescape 2007-2013

Seeing how Transformers is shutting down I'd expect 2015 to be filled with even more MTX in order to make up for the Transformers flop. It's still worth playing though if you still find certain aspects of the game entertaining.

RS3 is based on grinding an insane amount, most of it afk, and 07 is mostly just a sandbox for pvp.

If that appeals to you, sure.
