Getting 99 hunter then chinning 99 range

I'm planning on knocking out two goals I've never accomplished: 99 hunter and range. Am I better off hunting red chins the whole way due to convenience and death while hunting black chins? Would the amount of black chins hunted likely add up to enough for 99 range? Lastly, how much faster are black chins than red for hunting, as I know they give an extra box trap.
