Hey all. I'm eventually going to get a few hours of challenger spectate lessons, but first I'm looking to see what you know of in the area of free instruction. What are the best streamers/instructional videos for the AD Carry role? My positioning is alright, orbwalking is very good, and my cs is average for my elo (plat.) I know CS'ing is all practice, but that's where I'd like to improve most, as well as positioning. I can play all carries (Haven't touched Kalista and should never play Draven in ranked,) but my favourite is Cait, even though she's really weak at the moment in comparison to others.

    Thanks!

Dont bother with Kalista til she gets buffed.

Gosu is a nice streamer to watch; dem vayne mechanics.

Dont bother buying lessons just to practice on CS, it takes practice and practice, one game with a challenger player wont help that much; if thats what youre talking about getting.

I'm referring to general mechanics lessons. They watch you play and give advice to improve gameplay. When to trade in lane, why that engage was a mistake, where to be in fights, when to call the jungler for drag, etc etc. Most things that I thought I do well, but I've just heard getting lessons can change your mind on things where I thought I was good at but actually needed help. I feel like I'm at a plateau, where I have high knowledge about the game and champ mechanics, but I'm still stuck at plat.

Don't get coached honestly, if you legit want to get better and you seem like you want to put a lot of effort into becoming better, then watch a stream of a high ELO player and mimick everything he does, not only that though, play a lot of games.

put off a day for pure stream watching, get your popcorn, analyze plays. But dont get too in depth into the analyzing, remember you are watching for fun, and for your own enjoyment. You need to love the game to spam the games necessary and really love watching people play it for hours on end.

Try that instead of be given a focus by a challenger player during a coaching session.

Oh wait, you were just given one :p

I don't feel I've ever gotten better by watching streams, and a good friend of mine (who's master~challenger now) learned a lot of what you're wanting to learn just by duoing bot lane with me and talking to me on Skype. So I do think coaching has the potential to make you a lot better.

That said, I think you'd be best off trying to play with a friend of yours who's at a higher skill level before you go burn money on coaching - especially with people who are advertising challenger coaching; it's usually absurdly expensive. A friend who's good will be able to walk you through what they do or what you should do, and their genuine interest in your success (because they're not getting paid) will help you quite a bit.

Edit: I should add that he really enjoyed and benefited from playing against me in 1v1s with the same champion or with common matchups.

There are little tricks you can pick up on champions from streamers and then apply it into your own game.

(Such as using akali shroud to grant vision of jungle camp to juke an enemy) or which order to use your skills to get maximum damage output, or a certain place to flash that you didnt know about before. All these little things can help your own gameplay.

Find an OP champ, use it to get your rating above what you actually deserve, get better by playing with better players, repeat.

Agreed with Morgan. Play a stupid champ repeatedly, it's the best way to consistently gain ELO.

I'm working on Draven atm, he's pretty strong rn. I figure if I can get really good with him it shouldn't be too difficult to carry.

Nice! His damage output is pretty ridiculous at all points in the game. Get good with positioning on Draven and you'll go pretty far up the ranks.

Just a particularly strong or OP champ. There are quite a few in each role.
