I think you and everyone else is missing a key component in this. You CANNOT get a refund reversed. He even provided evidence of this in his thread.


We'll see in 6 months, 180 days, 4320 hours, 259200 minutes, 15552000 seconds. $3000 is a lot of of money and i'm sure ALL of you would be upset right about now that you're out $3000 and have to wait 6 months to get it back.

I think you're all missing the point. The guy is out $3000 right now and that's not chump change. Having to wait 6 months is ridiculous.

Paypal Frank is an Admin, i think he has much more weight than the Mods on the forum and i'd assume he knows what he's talking about.

 

This. The staff shouldn't be taking a do-nothing approach on big cases, but that seems to be the trend doesn't it.

 

We all know that this case wouldn't be treated the same way if it was anyone else in Arcus' position.

I normally am all for how staff do things around here but this just seems quite silly to wait 6 months for something like this. People should start reporting scammers and not putting who's account it is. Then after all the evidence is compiled and staff have input, prove who the user is.

 

Sorry, I worded that poorly, I didn't mean the staff doesn't do anything, I meant they are taking a do nothing stance. People are being extended extreme benefit of the doubt when they otherwise shouldn't (not Arcus in this case, I don't think many people here are betting on Arcus scamming the money). It seems the only time any notable user ever seems to get banned is when someone on the staff has some sort of personal dislike for that person.

I did a $500 transaction with Arcus a few weeks ago, if I was told I have to wait 6 months for that money by Arcus, I would be pissed. If I was told I had to wait 6 months by Sythe staff, neutral arbitrators, I would be shocked. Gold shops only job is to process payments - and they make a MASSIVE amount of money doing that. Arcus stood to make $1,200 from that transaction, but staff ruled that he doesn't have to do ANYTHING to resolve the $3,000 he currently holds of someone else's money?

 

The problem is, arcus isn't completely without risk here either, which is why we're stuck with this problem to begin with.

That's false, you can dispute refunded payments. That's why its not a safe way of doing trades, otherwise you could always trade with newcomers using that method.

Exactly, it can be re-opened by speaking with support or with your credit card company. Just because the official website doesn't offer that capability doesn't mean its not there.

Not really, if I were in this situation it'd be the same result. It was the users own fault, arcus shouldn't have to stick out his neck for $3000 just because the user got himself hacked.

 

To all the fucks whining about time. It's the fucking kids fault for losing control of his fucking PayPal. It's his own fucking fault and he caused all this shit on his own. Next time the little fuck who is probably trying to scam arcus for double should send the fucking money to his bank or lock the account through PayPal customer support.

Still, these sized transactions are risk/reward for a huge profit. Arcus is making ~$1,200 off of the transaction and accepting absolutely no risk - which is fine - but he should be trying his hardest (not waiting 6 months) to get his customer that he just made $1,200 from end of the deal, per his job as a gold buyer/seller.

Only under extreme pressure typically. There are very few staff members on this site who still try to be actually helpful rather than just pushing reports and disputes through.
