Havent played World of Warcraft in Years

Is it still worth playing? Haven't tried it since 2010. Has the player base gone down/up? What is going on?

We've all moved on. Honestly, it's just too old. Characters can be created already at lvl 90, there are guides out for every single action possible and starting new is too frustrating in a world of smurfs and veterans.

The best feeling is accomplishing something that makes you feel special in a MMO, which just really isn't possible in WoW anymore. There aren't any "firsts," and with new games coming along to compete it's no surprise there is a lack of interest.

 

Recently back over 10 million subs with Warlords of Draenor. Pretty good player base for a game 10 yrs old.

I started last year after a minimal stint in 2007 playing. I enjoy the game but I was overwhelmed and had little idea what I was doing. Agreed with Blade about the Smurfs+veterans...I felt like every dungeon I was in, I was the only legitimate noob.

 

Really puts the mood down for me returning back to the game, but I wanted honesty and thats what you gave me. Thanks =)

 

Played WOW once, and got bored of it, from what i know an expansion came out recently and quite a few people are playing it right now!

 

I stopped at mid- Cataclysm Expansion maybe if people could tell me what went on after that? Anything special that I would need to know?

 

Mists of pandaria & Warlords of Draenor expansions.

 

Stopped after WoTLK because I had achieved everything I wanted to before next expac release. However, I played a few months towards the end of MoP just there and can say I enjoyed my time PvPing, though PvM has been dumbed down somewhat. The 'looking for group' feature which was brilliant for finding quick heroic dungeons has now took over and it feels like there is a 'looking for' button for everything, thus the community aspect is gone.

It is still worth playing, obviously that feeling of wonderment is gone as the game is 10 years old, but there is still a lot to do especially in times of a new expac which came out last week or so if I'm correct. For me, it's still the best on the market.

they offer the 7 day free trial every now and then, i'm pretty sure you can do that or try the expansion for 10 days, so no need to even pay!

 

They brought that back? I remember playing WoW in 2005 and they had that for like 3 years, then removed it

 

It's a good game just create your char in a high pop server and you'll be fine, community is still there. Just give it a shot.

 

Last time I played was like 4 years ago, was a good game tbh. Nothing on runescape though.

 

Best thing to do would be recruit a friend if you cant get newest expac the battlechest offers up to pandas for 20 was up until today at 12 only 5$
recruit a friend exp is also X3 up into high 80's

 

Subscribers are at an all time high since WoTLK and many agree this is the best expansion so far. So much to do, raids just came out today so I can't comment much on that but Blizzard definitely looks to have stepped up their game big time.

 

Only way to find out if you try it yourself! I did, played for about a month and quit for the same reason i quit the first time.

 

I have around 7 characters from 90-100. I would say my favorite aspect is the PvP by far. It's more fun if you have friends to play with. When I found myself playing alone I would end up just getting off.

I think world of warcraft is old, I don't see any new addon's, nothign new about, there is alot of guides, i mean I dont think its worth playing anymore
