OSRS on a Raspberry Pi/other microcomputer?

Hey guys, my first post here on sythe. I'm looking for a way to afk splash magic to get my mage up, but I'd rather not use my laptop for it which I also use for school. I've heard many good things about the Raspberry Pi, but would it actually be capable of running OSRS? Or maybe another microcomputer?
Does anyone have any experience in this field? :p

    Thanks a lot!

Match the specs of the Pi with the minimum listed specs for OSRS. Its a cool idea, remember you'll need a monitor and such.

Of course OSRS minimized on your school laptop won't really get in the way either. If its distracting idk =p

OSRS on a Raspberry Pi/other microcomputer?

Hey, thanks for your reply. I did check OSRS system requirements, and on paper the Pi should be able to run it. The thing is that the Pi has an ARM processor, which I doubt it'll run java in the same way as other processors.
Anyone here that tried something similar? :)

If you were to use the client, and set it to minimum priority, you could splash without slowing down your computer.

Also, if you minimize it to the system tray, nobody would know you're afking RS ;)

Well the problem is that I have to travel around campus the whole day and even with wifi off I barely make it trough the day with my battery, not to speak of logging in and out every class. I think I'm gonna go with a VPS though, prices are much lower than I expected.

Can someone explain to me what a "Raspberry Pi" even is? I have never heard of this.

But I would recommend just buying a vps/vm and running your bot on there.

Microcomputers have been somewhat trendy. This one is apparently credit-card sized and still capable of low-end tasks.

This is an interesting idea. Sometimes it's nice to turn off my computer when I leave. For people that pay for their own power, depending on the computer this thing could save the $20-30/month a computer costs to power 24/7 where I live.

Ahh okay, makes sense. But yeah, what I would do is buy a vps/vm.

A VPS is definitely the solution to go with. Make sure that it can handle an OSRS client and has a virtual desktop. I also pay the extra money for windows instead of debian or something. Just run the bot and it'll continue going without wifi :p
